Park Myeong-su Welcomes Daughter’s University Admission, Jokes Against Bragging
Park Myeong-su expressed joy over his daughter Min-seo’s admission to Korea National University of Arts, while joking that parents should not openly boast about their children’s achievements. He discussed the news on Park Myung-soo's Radio Show.
Broadcaster Park Myeong-su welcomed congratulations over his daughter Min-seo’s admission to Korea National University of Arts, saying he was delighted while joking that such happiness should not become an excuse to brag.
Speaking with guests Ko Young Bae and Lee Hyun-yi on the broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s Park Myung-soo's Radio Show on the 15th, Park Myeong-su responded candidly when the conversation turned to the news.
“By the way, did you see the news?” Ko Young Bae asked before offering congratulations. The comment appeared to refer to the recently reported news of Min-seo’s admission to Korea National University of Arts.
“I’m happy. When your child does well, you’re happy. It’s such a happy thing,” Park Myeong-su said, expressing pride in his daughter’s achievement. He then added, “But you shouldn’t go around bragging about that,” drawing laughter.
Min-seo reportedly recently gained admission through the early admissions process to the creative arts department at Korea National University of Arts. She has studied dance, attending Yewon Middle School and Sunhwa Arts High School. Her admission marked the culmination of arts education and effort that began in childhood.
Park Myeong-su married doctor Han Su-min, who is eight years his junior, in 2008. They have one daughter, Min-seo.
His response combined parental pride with a humorous expression of restraint. As children’s admissions results become a focus of parents’ attention, his remarks reflected a relatable tension: good news about a child can inspire an urge to tell everyone, alongside caution about how to express that happiness.
Known for his outspoken wit and candid manner, Park Myeong-su conveyed his feelings in brief, humorous remarks. He readily acknowledged the joy of seeing his daughter succeed while taking a modest stance on publicly celebrating her achievement.
