Singer Sean revealed on the YouTube channel 'Lee Seong-mi's Motganda' that he waited three years for Jung Hye-young to embrace faith. The actress's religious shift was catalyzed after a designer offered to gift her a desired wedding dress the same evening she prayed for it during their first dawn service.

Singer Sean has shared the story of how he waited three years for his wife, Jung Hye-young, to open her heart to religion. Rather than forcing faith upon her—as she had expressed a resistance to religion due to unpleasant memories from her childhood at church—he chose to wait silently. He also revealed an unexpected experience where a wish Jung Hye-young made during their first dawn service together before their marriage was realized that very evening.

On the 26th, a video titled "I prayed at dawn, and the answer came that evening | The reason Jung Hye-young came to believe in God" was released on the YouTube channel 'Lee Seong-mi's Motganda'. During the video, Sean recounted the period from when he was dating Jung Hye-young to the moment they decided to marry, explaining the significance of faith in their relationship.

According to Sean, Jung Hye-young held a resentment toward religion at the time because of negative experiences she had at church during her childhood. Although her stance was that she "would absolutely not attend church," Sean did not attempt to force a change. Instead, he stated that he prayed while waiting for his wife to open her heart on her own.

"I didn't pray for a spouse. After meeting Hye-young, I thought, 'I must make this woman believe,'" Sean said. He shared his earnest feelings at the time, saying, "Did you not say that one soul is more precious than the world? I will stake my life, so please use me to bring her back to God."

However, he did not constantly persuade Jung Hye-young to go to church. "I didn't try to persuade her," Sean explained, noting that he did not repeatedly say, "Let's go to church, let's go to church," but simply waited. That period of waiting lasted approximately three years. He chose a method of giving her time to make her own choice rather than being impatient to change her beliefs.

Even when Jung Hye-young expressed a desire to visit a Catholic cathedral, Sean did not prioritize his own religion. For several months, he would personally take her to the cathedral, go to his own church, and then return to pick her up. In this way, they maintained their relationship while respecting each other's different religious experiences and thoughts.

The change occurred during the period when the couple was preparing for marriage. At the time, Sean was attending a Bible study group attended by female CEOs, and he suggested they go together, saying he wanted to introduce her to good people. Jung Hye-young attended the group not with the primary goal of having faith, but with the intention of meeting people comfortably.

When difficulties arose in their wedding preparations, Sean suggested that they attend a dawn service together. Jung Hye-young accepted this, and starting about one month before the wedding, she began attending dawn services with Sean. The change Sean had waited for a long time began to manifest gradually leading up to the marriage.

In that process, the wish Jung Hye-young made was fulfilled in an unexpected way. According to Sean's explanation, although she had worn over 1,000 wedding dresses throughout her career as an actress, there was a specific designer's dress she desperately wanted to wear for her own wedding. However, she had not yet decided on that dress even as the wedding approached.

During their first dawn service, Jung Hye-young prayed that she would be able to wear the wedding dress she desired. Coincidentally, that very evening, the designer appeared at the Bible study group they attended. The designer had joined the meeting through an introduction from another participant because someone else who was originally scheduled to attend could not make it.

Upon hearing the news of Sean and Jung Hye-young's marriage at the meeting, the designer asked if she had prepared a wedding dress and expressed a desire to gift it to her. The wish she had prayed for in the morning was realized just a few hours later. Sean stated that Jung Hye-young accepted this as an answer to her prayer, and it became an important catalyst for her opening her heart to faith.

Sean also reflected on the process of how he recovered his own faith. He expressed gratitude to Yang Hyun-suk, who provided him with a place to stay in his house and office and offered financial help during difficult times. He revealed that he later met Jinu at the suggestion of Yang Hyun-suk to prepare for the group Jinusean, and in that process, he began to attend church diligently again. He explained that his desire to communicate with teenagers and exert a positive influence through hip-hop was also connected to his religious life.

Married in 2004, Sean and Jung Hye-young have two sons and two daughters. The story shared by Sean shows that changing a person's beliefs is not achieved through words or persuasion alone. The three years of waiting without rushing and the experience of attending services together before the wedding remained special to Jung Hye-young. Their love story leaves food for thought regarding how to build a relationship while respecting different perspectives.
