Yoon Hye-jin tearfully recalls daughter's Sunhwa Arts Middle School acceptance
Former ballerina Yoon Hye-jin shared the emotional moment she and her daughter, Ji-on, screamed and cried upon learning Ji-on had been accepted into Sunhwa Arts Middle School.
Former ballerina Yoon Hye-jin revealed on her YouTube channel that she and her daughter, Ji-on, screamed and cried together after receiving an unexpected early call confirming Ji-on's acceptance into the vocal music major at Sunhwa Arts Middle School.
Former ballerina Yoon Hye-jin became tearful while recalling the moment she confirmed her daughter Ji-on's acceptance into Sunhwa Arts Middle School. She noted that she felt her heart sink with tension ahead of the announcement, and once the news was confirmed, she and her daughter screamed and cried together. Although she had tried to maintain a composed appearance as a mother, she could not hide her emotions in the face of the long-awaited result.
On the 22nd, a video titled "Is Haebangchon this much fun lately? (Restaurants, vintage shopping, living showroom)" was released on Yoon Hye-jin's YouTube channel, "Yoon Hye-jin's What see TV." While touring various parts of Haebangchon in Seoul, Yoon pointed to a specific location and said, "This is a place I can never forget," as it was tied to the day she checked her daughter Ji-on's middle school entrance exam results.
Yoon explained the situation at the time, stating, "Ji-on had taken the middle school entrance exam, and the results were supposed to be announced the next day. But then a call came saying the announcement had been made." The sudden arrival of the results earlier than expected brought a surge of tension to both mother and daughter.
The process of checking the acceptance was more nerve-wracking than expected. "She had to enter her resident registration number to check. My heart dropped," Yoon confessed, adding, "I first thought about what I should say to my child." Even before confirming the result, she worried about what words to offer her daughter in case of an unfavorable outcome. For the parents waiting alongside the student, the announcement was a heavy moment.
Ji-on was reportedly so nervous that she was unable to check the results herself. "Ji-on clung to me and said, 'I can't even look,'" Yoon revealed. "Then I pressed it, and it was an acceptance." When the word "accepted" appeared on the screen amidst the fear, the accumulated anxiety and tension instantly transformed into joy.
After confirming the acceptance, the mother and daughter eventually burst into tears. "I screamed and cried with Ji-on," Yoon recalled. She then burst into laughter, adding, "I tried to act bold by myself again." It was a confession that while she tried to act like a composed mother in front of her daughter, she could not control her emotions once the desired result was confirmed. Her short recollection conveyed the deep affection of a mother who endured the entrance exam process alongside her daughter.
Yoon Hye-jin, a former principal dancer of the Korean National Ballet, married actor Uhm Tae-woong in 2013 and has a daughter, Ji-on. Ji-on has drawn attention for being accepted into the vocal music major at Sunhwa Arts Middle School and recently showcased her singing skills through Yoon Hye-jin's YouTube channel. Interest continues regarding Ji-on's growth and artistic talent, as she is known to be 178cm tall.
A child's entrance exam is a process that goes beyond a simple test of pass or fail; it is a confirmation of the effort the child poured in and the time the family endured together. The tears shared by Yoon Hye-jin reflect the tension and desperation the mother and daughter faced leading up to that moment, just as much as the result of the acceptance itself. Her honest confession of laughing and crying more loudly than anyone else at her daughter's joy is drawing empathy.
