Agent Kim: Ok Taec Yeon Revealed as Legendary Human Weapon with Tragic Past Linked to So Ji-sub
SBS drama Agent Kim hits new viewership rating highs as Ok Taec Yeon's character is revealed as the legendary agent '66' in a tragic backstory with So Ji-sub.
The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Agent Kim' is increasing viewer immersion by fully unfolding the core narrative of its universe as episodes progress. In particular, Episode 4 created a turning point in the drama by revealing that actor Ok Taec Yeon was the actual protagonist of the legendary agent '66' who had been mentioned since the beginning of the series.

In Episode 4, which aired on the 4th, the past of Agent Kim (So Ji-sub) was revealed in detail for the first time. Before becoming the cold-blooded agent he is today, he was a young child living in extreme poverty in North Korea. Believing the claim that he was being selected for a sports team, he applied, but in reality, he was dragged into a secret organization that trains human weapons and subjected to harsh training.
There, Agent Kim fatefully encounters Park Young-kwang (Ok Taec Yeon), a boy possessing overwhelming combat capabilities. Having defeated all competitors to be finally selected, Park Young-kwang's top talent was recognized, and Agent Kim, who showed tenacity by resisting him until the end, was also chosen by the organization. The two subsequently grew into top-tier agents through harsh training where they were forced only to survive, having been deprived of a human life.
In particular, Agent Kim's tragic past was also revealed. He could not even properly remember his own name, knowing only the surname 'Kim,' and the organization forced him to erase both his past and his identity. Having lost his name and memories, he became a weapon existing only by a number; Park Young-kwang was assigned the code name '66,' and Agent Kim was assigned '74,' growing up while perceiving each other as rivals.
However, the fates of the two met with tragedy during a single operation. A large-scale explosion occurred during a mission they were deployed on together, and Park Young-kwang lost his life at the scene. Only Agent Kim narrowly survived, but North Korea concluded that the death of '66' was due to Agent Kim's betrayal. Subsequently, Agent Kim was defined as a traitor who defected to South Korea and was recorded within North Korea as a top priority target that must be eliminated.
This episode clearly completed the relationships between the main characters by connecting the identity of '66,' which had been repeatedly mentioned throughout the work, with Agent Kim's past. In particular, as it was revealed that Park Young-kwang, played by Ok Taec Yeon, was not just a character in a flashback but a key existence that determined Agent Kim's life, expectations for the subsequent development are rising even higher.
With the revelation of the past narrative, new meaning has been added to the actions of Park Kang-sung (Kim Sung Kyu) appearing in the current story. Park Kang-sung believes his brother Park Young-kwang's death is the responsibility of Agent Kim and is continuing his revenge, and how such a misunderstanding will be resolved in the future is emerging as a major point of interest.
'Agent Kim' recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 21.6% (according to Nielsen Korea) in Episode 4, breaking its own highest viewership rating while setting a new record for the highest box office success for a broadcast drama in 2026.
