SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Agent Kim' is ramping up the tension as it transitions into a full-scale action narrative.

In episode 3 of 'Agent Kim,' which airs on the 3rd, Kim Bu-jang (So Ji-sub), who summons his past as a former special agent to find his missing daughter Minji (Seo Su-min), and his supporter Seong Han-su (Choi Dae-hoon) dive directly into enemy territory, unfolding a 'lawless middle-aged' action narrative.

In this episode, Kim Bu-jang is depicted as a character who appears in the middle of enemy lines dressed in a black suit, carrying out a frontal breakthrough type of combat. The production team explained that they plan to showcase differentiated action directing through atypical action sequences and ingenious movement designs that break away from existing genre conventions.

Seong Han-su also appears wearing a Taekwondo uniform, revealing unexpected combat abilities and forming a new axis for the plot's development. In particular, the cooperative structure between the two characters expands beyond a simple combat partnership into a 'bromance-based narrative structure,' serving as a device to strengthen both emotional lines and action simultaneously.

Previously, 'Agent Kim' showed rapid success, recording a viewership rating of 15.7% (based on Nielsen Korea nationwide) in just 2 episodes. The 2049 viewership rating also reached a peak of 7.17%, placing it at the forefront among programs in the same time slot and across all genres.

The upward trend continues in buzz indicators as well. According to Good Data Corporation's Fundex, lead actor So Ji-sub ranked 1st in TV/OTT integrated drama actor buzz, and the work itself proved its presence by ranking 1st in TV drama buzz and 2nd in integrated standards.

The production team predicted that from this 3rd episode, the narrative expansion and action density will be strengthened simultaneously. Accordingly, attention is focused on whether the hit momentum of the middle-aged action narrative being built by 'Agent Kim' will continue.
