Gong Yoo Reveals Kiss Scene with Kim Go-eun During First Shoot for 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God'

Actor Gong Yoo revealed an anecdote about filming a kiss scene with Kim Go-eun during their very first shoot for the drama 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God'.

On the 'Guardian 10th Anniversary Trip' broadcast on tvN on the 4th, the cast members, including Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Kim Go-eun, and Yoo In-na, gathered once again to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the drama's conclusion and share memories related to the work.

After touring the filming locations in Gangneung and having a meal together, the four shared various behind-the-scenes stories while reminiscing about the drama's filming in 2016. During this process, Gong Yoo drew attention by revealing that his first shoot with Kim Go-eun was a kiss scene early in the series.

Gong Yoo recalled the moment, saying, "When I had my first shoot with Go-eun, they told us to film a kiss scene as soon as we met. It was a time when we weren't even close yet." He then laughed while recalling the sudden situation, adding, "I remember the director also said 'I'm sorry' at that time."

Lee Dong-wook and Yoo In-na also spoke about their first filming days. When Lee Dong-wook asked, "Do you remember our first shoot?", Yoo In-na replied, "It was the first day I filmed with you, and I had a very severe case of The Flu," conveying the tension of that time.

The lasting bond between the actors even after the drama ended was also revealed. Kim Go-eun said, "Even after the drama ended, the four of us often had spontaneous get-togethers," and added, "Since the three of them are all seniors, we have become close enough to talk comfortably now."

Gong Yoo also explained their close relationship, saying, "Despite the age difference, we didn't pay much attention to that and got along well like friends." When he jokingly added, "Actually, Lee Dong-wook contacts Kim Go-eun less often," Kim Go-eun retorted, "And yet, those two meet most frequently," bringing laughter to the set. In response, Gong Yoo explained, "Isn't there a level of comfort between men?", continuing the friendly atmosphere.

It was reported that this 10th-anniversary trip was made possible by Kim Go-eun's suggestion. Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook stated, "Kim Go-eun was the first to suggest, 'Since it's the 10th anniversary, it would be nice if the four of us could go on a trip or have a special time together.'"

Kim Go-eun explained the background of the plan, saying, "The four of us have a unique chemistry when we are together, but we haven't had the chance to show it. I thought it would be a meaningful time to gather again for the 10th anniversary."
