Han Chae Ah on marriage conflicts with husband Cha Se-jji
Actress Han Chae Ah opens up about early marriage struggles over money and how she eventually embraced her husband's frugal lifestyle.
Actress Han Chae Ah revealed that she experienced significant conflicts with her husband, Cha Se-jji, regarding financial issues during the early stages of their marriage. However, she confessed that as time passed, she came to understand her husband's frugal habits, and her own spending habits even changed as a result.

On the 13th, a video titled 'The night is long for management maniacs. Kang Ye-won X Han Chae Ah's crossing-the-line girls' talk' was released on the YouTube channel 'Kang Ye-won'. Traveling to Busan, Han Chae Ah and Kang Ye-won shared honest stories about married life and marital relationships while enjoying drinks.
During the conversation, when Kang Ye-won mentioned Cha Se-jji and said, "Be good to Se-jji," Han Chae Ah replied without hesitation, "I am." She then revealed that in the early days of her marriage, there were considerable clashes with her husband due to differences in their financial values.
"We clashed a lot in the beginning," Han Chae Ah said. "I couldn't even tolerate him spending 1,000 won however he pleased. He saves 70% of the money he earns."
She continued by sharing her honest feelings at the time: "At first, I wondered, 'Do we really have to save that much?' I was fed up with it."
However, as they spent more time living together as a married couple, her thoughts changed. "As I lived, I began to think that was the right way," Han Chae Ah said. "Living with my husband, I also started to save money." She went on to evaluate Cha Se-jji as "a man with things to learn from," expressing that she has come to accept her husband's financial values positively.
While different spending habits were the cause of conflict in the early marriage, over time, she understood his way and even changed her own lifestyle. It was not simply a matter of 'saving money versus spending money,' but a realistic depiction of a couple adjusting to each other's different values.
The conversation continued regarding the couple's lifestyle. When Kang Ye-won asked about sleeping in separate rooms and their marital relationship, Han Chae Ah explained, "What we value very highly is sleep," noting that they use separate beds only for the purpose of sleeping.
She candidly revealed, "We only sleep separately; before that, we lie in bed together, watch TV, and have a marital relationship."
Kang Ye-won expressed envy toward Han Chae Ah's married life, saying, "Honestly, looking at you, I'm quite envious." She spoke positively about their relationship, mentioning that her own mother wishes she had lived in a household like Han Chae Ah's.
To Han Chae Ah, Cha Se-jji felt like an excessively frugal husband in the early days of marriage, but after time has passed, it seems she has come to accept that his frugality is his way of thinking about the family's future. Ultimately, the difference in financial values that was once the cause of conflict became an opportunity for them to learn each other's lifestyles.
Born in 1982, Han Chae Ah married Cha Se-jji, the son of Cha Bum-kun, in 2018, and they have a daughter.
