Hwang Jung-eum channels Jennie's idol style after 20 years

Actress Hwang Jung-eum has undergone a radical styling transformation, evoking the sensibilities of her idol days for the first time in approximately 20 years.

On the 19th, Hwang released a video on her YouTube channel titled 'The Day I Did Idol Makeup and Went to a Club with Ayumi.' The video captures Hwang attempting idol-style makeup and fashion for the first time since her days with the girl group Sugar.

Prior to the makeup application, Hwang personally requested, "Make me look like an idol. Make me look like BLACKPINK's Jennie." The makeup artist suggested a 'pink beam' look featuring a pink glow, a style frequently used in recent K-pop idol styling, and added lavender-toned eye makeup to emphasize Hwang's distinct facial features.

Upon seeing the finished look, Hwang expressed her satisfaction, saying, "It's so pretty" and "The makeup turned out well." Unlike the mature and sophisticated image she has maintained as an actress, the bright makeup reminiscent of her idol days created a brand-new atmosphere.

Her fashion was equally bold. Hwang chose a lingerie-style outfit, presenting an image markedly different from her previous looks. Looking at herself, she showed her characteristic playful side by joking, "A mother of two who wants to be Jennie."

The reaction from her close friend Ayumi also drew attention. Appearing with styling reminiscent of the girl group NewJeans, Ayumi expressed her surprise at Hwang's transformation, saying, "This is R-rated." In particular, she noted the change in Hwang's appearance, mentioning, "You really lost a lot of weight."
