Namkoong Min faces intense police chase in 'The Husband'

Actor Namkoong Min is set to deliver intense tension as he engages in a high-stakes chase with the police against the backdrop of a massive construction site.

In the fifth episode of the KBS 2TV weekend drama 'The Husband', airing on the 18th, Kang Tae-joo (Namkoong Min) will be seen making a desperate escape to evade police pursuit, risking everything to save his wife.

In the previous fourth episode, Kang declared a full-scale counterattack by appearing before the monitor of Noh Man-hee (Kim Dae-myung), who kidnapped Seyoon Ko (Lee Seol), after joining forces with Yi Suhyŏng (Park Byeong-eun), who lost his wife. That episode broke its own record once again, recording a peak viewership rating of 8.5% in Bundang and a nationwide viewership rating of 7.2% (based on Nielsen Korea).

Stills released for episode 5 capture a large-scale action sequence set within a massive construction site. Kang attempts to evade the pursuing police by crossing sand dunes and navigating through steel structures. However, the tension reaches its peak as he eventually comes face-to-face with the police forces surrounding the site.

In particular, the preview features a scene where warning shots are fired into the air amidst the police perimeter, focusing attention on whether Kang can break through the crisis.

To heighten the realism, Namkoong Min performed most of the high-difficulty action sequences himself. It is reported that he deepened the drama's immersion through passionate acting, not sparing himself as he rolls through the rough construction site and climbs high structures.

Moving beyond simple action, he is expected to add depth to the character's narrative by delicately expressing complex emotions—a mix of desperation to save his wife, the anxiety of being hunted, and a surge of anger and fear—through subtle eye contact and breathing.

The production team stated, "In episode 5, the intense process of Kang Tae-joo refusing to give up even when pushed to his limits will unfold," adding, "Namkoong Min's overwhelming action and emotional acting will further heighten the tension of the drama."

As 'The Husband' continues its upward trend by breaking its own highest viewership rating, attention is focused on whether this chase sequence will once again captivate viewers.
