'The Husband' viewership surges, closing gap with So Ji-sub's 'Agent Kim Reactivated'

In the second episode of the KBS2 weekend drama 'The Husband' aired last week, Namkoong Min first encountered the mysterious and enigmatic Park Byeong-eun.

Yi Su-hyeong (Park Byeong-eun) suddenly appeared before Kang Tae-joo (Namkoong Min), who was suffering because no one believed him. Yi Su-hyeong surprised Kang Tae-joo by stating, “I am the only person who knows that you didn't kidnap your wife.”

The viewership rating for this episode recorded 6.4% nationwide, a 2.0% point increase from the first episode. The highest viewership rating per minute reached 7.2%. On the same day, SBS's 'Agent Kim Reactivated' starring So Ji-sub surpassed a 20% viewership rating.

'The Husband' ranked 1st in the 'Today's Korea TOP 10 Series' on the global OTT Disney+, 6th in the TV-OTT DRAMA category of the Fundex Report by Good Data Corporation (a TV buzz analysis agency), and 4th in the TV DRAMA category.

In the third episode airing on the 11th, a sharp confrontation will unfold as Namkoong Min and Park Byeong-eun directly confirm each other's existence. Kang Tae-joo and Yi Su-hyeong created tension by showing sharp suspicion and wariness toward one another. While Kang Tae-joo was carefully examining the details investigated by Yi Su-hyeong inside the private investigation agency, he appeared shocked and pointed a gun at Yi Su-hyeong, who responded very calmly without moving an inch. However, Kang Tae-joo and Yi Su-hyeong soon engaged in a violent physical struggle.

The production team stated, “The meeting between Yi Su-hyeong, who seems to know the truth about the kidnapping case, and the desperate Kang Tae-joo will itself become a very important core element of 'The Husband.' The key watching point is to see what choice Kang Tae-joo, who knows nothing about Yi Su-hyeong's true identity, will ultimately make.”
