The Netflix series 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' Season 2 is expected to begin filming this October. As original author Lee Nak-jun shared updates on production preparations, interest is surging among viewers who have been eagerly awaiting a sequel following the success of Season 1.

During the 'World of Jobs' special on the KBS2 program 'Malja Show' broadcast on the 24th, Lee, the author of the original web novel, made an appearance. An otolaryngologist by profession, Lee is a creator known for combining medical expertise with public engagement through his role in the medical YouTube channel 'Doctor Friends.'

During the broadcast, the MCs noted the significant attention 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' garnered upon release and inquired about the production and release schedules for both Season 2 and Season 3.

Regarding the progress of Season 2, Lee stated, "Pre-production for Season 2 is finished, and we are currently looking for filming locations. We will likely begin filming in October." This indicates that as pre-production enters its final stages, location scouting and production preparations are actively underway.

'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' is a medical drama following a severe trauma team that prioritizes patient survival even in dire medical environments. It distinguishes itself from typical hospital procedurals by centering its narrative on the realities of the emergency medical system, professional ethics, and the responsibility to preserve life.

The central figure of the series is the genius trauma surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk, played by Ju Ji-hoon in Season 1. Lee emphasized the high level of synchronization between the original character and the actor.

He drew laughter from the audience, noting, "Actor Ju Ji-hoon is 188cm tall. Since I am a bit short, seeing someone 20cm taller than me was a fantasy. The character's height was set to 188cm in the work, and then such a person actually appeared.""

Lee also shared an anecdote regarding their meeting, recalling that Ju once bought him an extra-large meal of gukbap and suyuk. "His personality was truly like Baek Kang-hyuk, so I wondered, 'Can they really be this well-matched?'" Lee remarked.
