ChoA, from cancer survivor to mother of twins: Latest health update
Former Crayon Pop member ChoA shares her journey of overcoming cervical cancer and infertility to become a mother of twins.
ChoA, a former member of Crayon Pop, has become a mother of twins after overcoming the long ordeals of battling cancer and infertility. She recently shared an update on her health, visiting a hospital for a checkup six months after giving birth.

Fans are offering continuous support and encouragement as they witness ChoA reclaiming her daily life after such difficult times.
On the 3rd, ChoA posted photos on her SNS, writing, “I had a follow-up test today, so I rushed to Severance early this morning. Finished the test well and heading back home.”
In the released photos, ChoA is seen visiting the hospital in a comfortable outfit, wearing a bucket hat and a mask. Although most of her face was covered, her bright eyes and noticeably healthier expression caught people's attention.
The background of the photo included a sign indicating the 5th floor of Yonsei Cancer Center, and through the diagnostic documents in her hand, it appears she visited the hospital for regular follow-up examinations following her cancer treatment.
- Cervical cancer diagnosis during pregnancy preparation: A long journey
The reason ChoA's recent update feels even more meaningful is that the path she traveled was by no means smooth.
ChoA, who debuted as a member of Crayon Pop in 2012 and was a key figure in the 'Bar Bar Bar' craze, married a businessman six years her senior in 2021.
Afterward, she faced an unexpected ordeal while preparing for pregnancy. While visiting a hospital for prenatal examinations, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
She struggled to balance cancer treatment with preserving her future fertility, and in 2023, she successfully completed both cancer resection surgery and fertility-preserving surgery.
After a long period of treatment and recovery, she held onto hope once again and attempted in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Finally, this past February, she experienced the joy of becoming a mother by holding two identical twin sons in her arms.
- “A process for the children, from cancer diagnosis to childbirth”
ChoA recently shared special emotions while recalling the time of the IVF procedure.
“If there is a good thing about IVF, it is that you can see the baby's embryo stage,” she stated, adding, “I never dreamed that this embryo would divide and become twins.”
She recalled the overwhelming moment, saying, “Today last year was the day I first learned the news of Mumu-deul's pregnancy. I shed continuous tears of joy and relief.”
In particular, ChoA confessed, “While preparing for pregnancy and going for prenatal exams, I suddenly received a cancer diagnosis, and after the time of surgery and recovery, I walked through the IVF process.”
She expressed deep love for her children, saying, “Looking back now, all that time was a period that made me a healthier mother for Mumu-deul. I am truly grateful and cherish it.”
- “A baby angel will come at the best time”: Comfort for mothers facing infertility
ChoA also delivered a warm message to those going through difficult times due to infertility, just as she did.
“Please hang in there just a little longer. I believe a baby angel will come at the best time,” she said, adding, “I will sincerely cheer for you.”
ChoA's story of overcoming the fearsome reality of cancer and the long wait of infertility is delivering hope and courage to many.
Fans continue to cheer for ChoA, who is now living a new life as a mother of two, hoping she continues to lead a healthy life.
