Boom reveals why he remodeled his dressing room for SBS Radio
Entertainer Boom shares the extreme professionalism he showed by installing a home recording booth to host 'Boom Boom Power' during his peak years.
Entertainer Boom has revealed the immense sense of responsibility and extraordinary professionalism he maintained while working as a radio DJ during his peak years.

He is drawing attention once again as stories emerge of how he installed a radio recording booth in his own home to keep his promises to listeners despite a packed variety show schedule.
In a video released on the YouTube channel 'Zzanbro' on the 3rd, Boom, Nucksal, and Hanhae—who are currently active on the tvN variety show 'Amazing Saturday'—appeared to share various stories.
During the appearance, Boom reminisced about his time hosting the SBS Radio program 'Boom Boom Power,' which he hosted for approximately five years from 2017 to 2022.
- "There came a moment when I couldn't pour my energy into the radio"
Boom explained how his schedule exploded as his variety show activities intensified. He confessed, "As 'Amazing Saturday' became successful and my schedule increased, there came a moment when I couldn't pour my energy into the radio."
However, since it was a program that had been loved for a long time, he could not give it up easily. Boom revealed, "The first and last thing I ever requested back then was to have something made at my house where I could record."
Ultimately, the technical team from SBS visited Boom's house and installed a radio recording booth in his dressing room. They created an environment that allowed him to conduct recordings at home without having to commute to the broadcasting station.
- "Even at 2 AM, I thought it was 4 PM"
However, recording at home was by no means an easy task. Boom shared the hardships of that time, saying, "When I got home at 2 or 3 AM, I had to record."
He continued, "I recorded while thinking, 'I am at 4 PM.'"
This meant that because the time listeners tuned in never changed, he strove to maintain the energy of the broadcast time regardless of his actual physical state.
However, the repeated forced marches eventually hit a limit. Boom shared the bittersweet situation, saying, "Sometimes when I turned my face, my coat would touch my cheek. I realized I couldn't keep doing it like this," with a laugh.
In the end, he revealed, "The last thing I requested was that I would return once I had a bit more breathing room."
- Boom's broadcasting philosophy of keeping promises to listeners
Upon hearing Boom's story, Shin Dong-yup highly praised his attitude. Shin complimented Boom's professionalism, saying, "Even if it is 2 AM, it is 4 PM for the listeners. You learned well from Kang Ho-dong."
In fact, Boom was loved by many listeners for creating a unique identity for 'Boom Boom Power' through his bright energy and improvisational hosting. Behind the image of a flashy entertainer lay the time he spent striving to fulfill his role behind the scenes.
Broadcasting is the act of creating a moment of fun, but someone must constantly prepare for that moment. Boom's words, "I am at 4 PM," which he shouted every dawn in a small recording booth inside his home, have become a symbol of the responsibility he has upheld as a broadcaster.
