Jewelry Reunites on Stage After 20 Years: 'How Could I Not Cry?'

The girl group Jewelry, which heated up the Korean music scene in the early 2000s, is returning to the stage under a single name after a 20-year hiatus. Members Park Jung-ah, Lee Ji-hyun, Seo In-young, and Cho Min-ah have broken their long silence to summon memories of their heyday by performing a string of hit songs.Upon finishing their performance, Seo In-young could not hide her overwhelming emotions, remarking, "Is it menopause? I'm crying again," as she struggled to contain her feelings.

The 773rd episode of the KBS 2TV music program 'Immortal Songs,' scheduled to air on the 12th at 6:05 PM, is organized as the first part of the '2026 NEW WAVE Festival in Ulsan.' This special event, held at the Taehwagang National Garden in Ulsan with approximately 10,000 spectators, features a lineup including Lee Seung-gi, Forestella, Lee Chan-won, Dahyoung, Click-B, and Jewelry.

The biggest topic of conversation is undoubtedly Jewelry. Members Park Jung-ah, Lee Ji-hyun, Seo In-young, and Cho Min-ah have taken the stage once again as Jewelry after 20 years, performing their representative hits such as 'One More Time,' 'I Like You So Much,' 'Tonight,' and 'Super Star.' They stimulated the collective memory of the audience by recreating the signature ET dance and the 'shaking dance' that symbolized the music industry at the time.

This reunion is perceived as even more special because Jewelry did not start with this specific member lineup. The group originally debuted in 2001 with Park Jung-ah, Lee Ji-hyun, Jung Yu-jin, and Jeon Eun-mi, undergoing several member changes thereafter. They built their peak popularity with the addition of members like Seo In-young and Cho Min-ah. After Lee Ji-hyun and Cho Min-ah left the team in 2006, other members such as Kim Eun-jung and Ha Ju-yeon joined, with the lineup shifting across different eras. In 2011, Park Jung-ah and Seo In-young left, and after various combinations of members, Jewelry officially disbanded in 2015.

Therefore, this stage is difficult to describe simply as a 'reunion of original members.' Its significance lies in the fact that members who collectively created different eras of Jewelry's peak joined together once more, compressing the group's many eras into a single stage.

In particular, there is a unique narrative behind the reunion of Seo In-young and Cho Min-ah. The two had drawn intense interest from fans due to public rumors that their relationship had grown distant. Discord surfaced when Cho Min-ah did not attend Seo In-young's wedding in 2023, at which time Cho Min-ah expressed her feelings of being hurt regarding the invitation. Subsequently, Seo In-young also expressed her apologies for being unable to reach out.

The fact that these two met again this year under the name of Jewelry was deeply meaningful to fans. On Seo In-young's YouTube channel, 'Reform Seo In-young,' revealed this past June, the members of Jewelry performed a full group stage for the first time in about 20 years. Cho Min-ah gave a candid confession, tearfully stating that although she had tried to live without consciously thinking about the members, she truly "missed them."
