Jun Jin's wife Ryu Yi-seo almost quit flight attendant career due to motion sickness
Ryu Yi-seo, wife of Shinhwa's Jun Jin, reveals how severe motion sickness nearly ended her 16-year career as an Asiana Airlines flight attendant.
Ryu Yi-seo, wife of Shinhwa member Jun Jin, revealed an anecdote from the early days of her 16-year career as a flight attendant, when she considered resigning due to severe motion sickness.

On the 14th, Ryu introduced a new content series titled 'Yi-seo's Private Life' through her YouTube channel 'My Love Ryu Yi-seo,' sharing various experiences regarding her time as a flight attendant and her professional life.
Explaining the reason for starting the series, Ryu said, "I created this to capture everything from professional life to my personal private life. Many people ask me, 'How can I do well in professional life?' I thought that if I combined my own experiences with the experiences of those who have worked for a long time, I could provide more information kind of information.""
The conversation naturally transitioned to Ryu's days as a flight attendant. Recalling her very first flight, she reminisced, "I don't remember exactly what happened, but I just remember being really nervous."
However, the excitement was short-lived, as what tormented Ryu once she was deployed for actual flights was an unexpected obstacle: severe motion sickness.
"I suffered from so much motion sickness back then," Ryu confessed. "It was so bad that I thought I should just endure it for one month and then quit."
Co-star Han Juho also empathized with the difficulties flight attendants face in the field. He explained that there are cases where crew members experience severe motion sickness or vomiting during flights and end up leaving the company after working for a certain period because they cannot adapt.
At the time, Ryu also found it difficult to guarantee that her career as a flight attendant would last long.
"I told myself, 'Let's just endure it for one month,' but after that, it got better," she said. She overcame the crisis as the extreme motion sickness gradually disappeared.
As a result, Ryu overcame the initial hurdle when she thought she wouldn't even last a month, eventually establishing herself as a veteran who worked as a flight attendant at Asiana Airlines for 16 years. The person who once considered resigning ended up building a career in the aviation industry that far exceeded 10 years.
This confession serves as an anecdote showing that the flight attendant profession, which may appear glamorous on the surface, is actually a high-intensity job that requires physical adaptation and enduring repetitive work burdens.
Ryu married Shinhwa member Jun Jin, who is three years older, in 2020. Since then, she has been communicating with the public by sharing her married life, daily routines, and professional experiences through her YouTube channel and other platforms.
