Han Hye-jin Debuted as KBS Talent but Gave Up Due to Dialect

To mark Buddha's Birthday, Huh Young-man traveled to Bukhansan and the alleys of Yongin with singers Jin Seong and Han Hye Jin.

Jin Seong shared the behind-the-scenes story of his hit song ‘At Andong Station.’ Contrary to the misconception that he must be from Andong, Gyeongbuk, because of the song, he revealed, “Actually, I am from the Honam region.”

He also confessed that he received only 500,000 won when recording ‘At Andong Station.’ He shared his life story, revealing that before gaining popularity six years after the song's release, he went through more than 30 different jobs, including working as a delivery person for a Chinese restaurant and a daily office worker.

Han Hye Jin mentioned her father, who provided full support during her unknown years. She revealed that her father sold land and a house twice to help realize his daughter's dream.

Regarding the anecdote about the first bundle of tens of millions of won she handled after achieving great success with the hit 'Brown Memories,' she confessed, “Every night, I lost sleep because I kept hiding the cash, alternating between the refrigerator and the closet.”

She surprised viewers by revealing that she first made her debut in the entertainment industry as a KBS open recruitment talent before becoming a singer. She explained that she was constantly criticized for her Gyeongsang-do accent during script readings, and eventually, she could not overcome it and decided to change her career path to a singer.

The three people enjoyed temple food, Bukhansan cream soy milk noodles, handmade fried dumplings, wild spring herbs, and Korean pork belly to their heart's content.
