Hong Hyun-hee and JaySSEN Search for Country House, Dreaming of Living in Nature with Their Son

Comedian Hong Hyun-hee and interior designer JaySSEN revealed that they are considering renting a country house in nature to live in, separate from the Gangnam apartment in Seoul where they currently reside.

On the 3rd, a video titled 'Looking for a House' was released on their YouTube channel 'Hong Hyun-hee JaySSEN's Hongssun TV.' The video shows the couple personally touring country houses with yards where they can spend weekends or rest periods.

JaySSEN shared how his perspective on country life changed, saying, "At first, I thought, 'Do we really need a country house if we only go a few times a year?' but my thoughts changed after visiting rural areas for filming." He explained the reason for seeking a country house, adding, "Spending time in nature was healing, and I felt that my son's language development was faster when playing in nature, and his time spent looking at smart devices seemed to decrease."

Hong Hyun-hee also expressed her long-standing desire to live in nature. She said, "It had a different charm compared to spending time in pool villas," and added, "It has been a long-time dream to spend time with my son in a house with a yard, tending to a vegetable garden and growing our own crops to eat."

The couple visited the Yangsu-ri area in Yangpyeong County and looked around several properties. During this process, guided by a real estate agent, they visited a two-story duplex house, which was introduced with a jeonse deposit of 200 million won or a monthly rent of 800,000 won with a 70 million won deposit.

After viewing the property, JaySSEN evaluated it as being sufficiently competitive in terms of cost, noting, "During peak season, hotel accommodations alone can cost around 400,000 won per day." Hong Hyun-hee also showed a positive reaction, saying, "There are many pool villas where the daily accommodation fee exceeds 1 million won."

However, the two pointed out that the scale of the house was somewhat large compared to their family members as a drawback. Hong Hyun-hee stated her desired conditions, saying, "I think I would be fully satisfied with a house about one floor in size with a yard and a small vegetable garden."

Although they looked at several more properties afterward, they could not find a house that met both their budget and conditions. Hong Hyun-hee added jokingly, "I really want to find a house I like within this year. If not, shouldn't we request help from 'Where Is My Home'?"

Hong Hyun-hee and JaySSEN married in 2018 and have a son, Jun-beom. They currently reside in a jeonse rental at the Hyundai Apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The market price for the complex is known to be around 8 billion to 9 billion won for purchase and around 1.6 billion to 1.8 billion won for jeonse.
