Hwang Gwang-hui Says Goodbye to His Paper Doll Image, Building Muscle as He Moves Toward the Hulk
Former ZE:A member Hwang Gwang-hui shows a newly muscular look in Los Angeles, contrasting with his old Paper Doll image.
Hwang Gwang-hui, a broadcaster and former member of the boy group ZE:A, has drawn attention by showing off a healthier, more muscular physique that marks a clear departure from the slim image long associated with him.

Recently, Hwang posted photos on his own account with the caption, "It's been a while, with friends and a cute baby." In the images, he is spending a relaxed moment in a residential neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, wearing a sleeveless top and jeans.
What stands out most is the muscle visible in his arms through the sleeveless shirt. Born in 1988, Hwang debuted in 2010 as a member of ZE:A, the boy group known for songs including "Aftereffects," "Ghost of the Wind," and "Breath." Beyond music, he became especially active on television thanks to his sharp sense for variety programming, appearing prominently on MBC's "Infinite Challenge" and other shows.
On variety programs, Hwang was often shown as having a frail-looking figure, with a tall frame, thin build, and slender arms and legs. That image led to his nickname "Paper Doll." The recent update he shared, however, looks entirely different from the nickname that once followed him.
Hwang had already spoken about the change during a January appearance on MBC's "Radio Star." At the time, he said, "It has been a year and a half since I started working out. I even go to the gym five times a week. As I kept exercising, my chest and arms started to stand out. I used to wonder why people with good bodies took so many selfies, but once I could see my own body changing, I found myself taking them too."
