Hyun Young Apologizes to Her Daughter After Seeing Stress-Induced Hair Loss

In a preview video released on the 24th by MBN's 'Sokpuri Show Dongchimi', entertainer Hyun Young revealed that she experienced a major shock after being overly intense with her first daughter's education.

Hyun Young stated, “Since she is my first, I wanted to raise her well. Because I am also a mother for the first time, I pushed her very hard in the beginning with the thought that I really had to raise her well.” She shared that she took care of her child more diligently than anyone else, filling her daughter's schedule with studies and various activities.

However, one day, while watching her daughter solve workbooks, she discovered an unexpected sight. She confessed that dizzying moment, saying, “The child was solving a workbook, and there was something like a pimple on the crown of her head. She must have been under so much stress that she kept picking at it with her hands, causing scabs to form, and it looked like circular hair loss. My daughter was 8 years old at the time, and the moment I saw that, I thought, ‘What am I doing to her right now?’”

She recalled, “I cried so much that day. I wondered what I was doing to my own daughter. It was a wake-up call.”

In response, Hyun Young laid out her daughter's schedule and left the choices to her. She shared, “I told my daughter to mark everything she didn't want to do, and she truly said she didn't want to do anything. So, I told her to quit everything, even the things she had been doing since she was in my womb.”

At that time, the daughter was learning tennis instead of swimming as she does now. Hyun Young revealed the harrowing situation, saying, “I cleared everything out without hesitation. I felt so sorry because I didn't realize my child was under so much stress. So, I just told her to play.”

Since then, her educational approach has changed. She mentioned on MBC's 'Radio Star' last year that she now personally accompanies her daughter, who has grown into a swimmer, saying, “The moments when I hug and cheer for her when her records fall short of expectations are more precious than when she takes first place,” sharing her new parenting method.

She married a finance professional four years her senior in 2012 and has one son and one daughter. Her eldest daughter is currently active as a swimmer.
