Im Soo-hyang downsized her home and Lamborghini to overcome burnout
Actress Im Soo-hyang opens up about embracing minimalism and downsizing her luxury lifestyle to recover from a period of intense burnout.
Actress Im Soo-hyang candidly opened up about the period she experienced burnout and the reasons why she decided to downsize her home and vehicles.

On the episode of the tvN STORY variety show 'Table Tales' broadcast on the 20th, actresses Uee and Im Soo-hyang appeared as guests.
During the episode, Lee Young Ja joked with Im, saying, "You sold your house and moved to a smaller one, and you even swapped your large car for a small one. Was there a change in your mindset, or did you go bankrupt?"
Se-ri Pak also added to the laughter by mentioning that Im had previously said, "I'll do anything if you just give me money," suggesting there might be financial reasons behind the changes.
In response, Im explained, "I wanted to live a life of decluttering. I began to pursue minimalism."
She continued, "I used to drive sports cars. But at some point, rumors grew that I drove Lamborghinis and Ferraris. Many articles were written about supercars, and when I jokingly answered 'It's just for show' to questions on YouTube about why I bought them, the articles only left the words 'supercar' and 'showing off.'"
When Lee expressed sympathy, saying, "That made you look frivolous," Im explained, "That's why I decided to downsize my house and try living minimally."
She also spoke honestly about the scale of her home.
After jokingly claiming she reduced her home from 200 pyeong to 100 pyeong, she clarified, "In reality, I moved from a house over 60 pyeong with a Han River view to a house in the 30-pyeong range." She added, "I started wondering if it was truly a space I needed."
Burnout was the catalyst for these changes.
Im confessed, "There was a period in my life when burnout hit. After an awards ceremony ended, I started theater rehearsals on January 1st, but even though I like theater and love acting, I didn't want to do anything. I didn't even want to go to the theater or practice."
She recalled that time, saying, "There was a time when I agonized over what I wanted, what kind of person I wanted to be, and what kind of actress I wanted to become."
She revealed that she subsequently took on new challenges to change her way of life.
"Feeling that I was taking fewer challenges than before, I started running and decided to change my life little by little," Im said. "I tried to live simply while questioning if all these things were truly necessary. Those challenges became an opportunity for me to change my thinking and grow."
She also shared, "Until now, there were many things I did simply because I had to, and I just kept running busily. I don't think I had time to truly look back at myself. Now, I am feeling the joy of doing one by one the things I used to only talk about but couldn't execute."
Currently, Im is continuing her new daily routine while simultaneously studying Japanese and taking vocal lessons.
Finally, when Lee asked, "Have you escaped burnout now?", she replied with a bright smile, "I'm okay now. I am happy now," sharing her much brighter current status.
