Im Woo-il rejected Kim Young-hee's confessions 38 times but walked her down the aisle
Comedian Im Woo-il revealed how he rejected 38 confessions from Kim Young-hee, yet showed deep loyalty by standing in for her late father at her wedding.
Comedian Im Woo-il revealed that he received as many as 38 confessions from his junior, Kim Young-hee, though the two never became a romantic couple. Despite this, he showed extraordinary loyalty by walking her down the aisle, holding her hand to stand in for her late father at her wedding.

On the 15th, Im appeared on the 540th episode of JTBC's 'Knowing Bros' alongside Hwang Je-sung, Nam Ho-yeon, and Kwak Beom, where he discussed his special bond with Kim.
During the broadcast, Kang Ho-dong opened the conversation by teasing Im, saying, "I heard a story. They say Im Woo-il is a lady killer."
Kim Shin-young immediately brought up Kim, exposing, "There was only one woman who liked Woo-il. Kim Young-hee really liked him. It was just her. He's not a killer, he's a kill. Young-hee followed him around for years."
Im admitted to receiving numerous confessions from Kim, though the two differed on the exact number.
Im made the cast laugh by stating, "She kept confessing. She says it was 17 times, but when I checked, it was 38 times."
He explained that he did not take her initial feelings lightly. "When she first confessed, I took it seriously and thought about it. I told her that we didn't seem to be either seniors and juniors or a man and a woman," Im shared.
However, Kim's confessions continued. Im explained that she would invariably call him whenever it rained.
Kim Shin-young provided specific testimony, noting, "When Young-hee lived in Gimpo, she would call whenever it rained. While drinking at a street stall, she would say, 'There is someone I love in my heart. Before I tell you, senior, I'll just go to the restroom,' and then she would disappear and come back."
She added, "When I asked if she had finished in the restroom, she would say, 'I just went to confess.'"
In response, Hwang Je-sung drew laughter by quipping, "She confessed as if she were just stepping out to a convenience store to buy something."
The confessions were not limited to rainy days. Im recalled, "When a sweet scene came on in a drama, she would call and confess again. The hardest time was when the 'Reply' series was airing."
He explained that Kim was often influenced by romantic scenes in dramas, noting, "She confessed 18 times during that period alone." He added that he would tell her, "Stop watching dramas and just go to sleep early," which prompted more laughter from the cast.
Despite the repeated attempts, Im ultimately did not accept her feelings. Although they never became a couple, Im stood by her side during a pivotal moment in her life.
At Kim's wedding, Im held the bride's hand and walked down the aisle in place of her late father.
"Since Young-hee's father was not there at her wedding, I held Young-hee's hand and walked in," Im said. Even without a romantic relationship, he stepped into a familial role for his long-time junior.
A humorous mishap from the day was also revealed. Im recalled, "At that time, Lee Young Ja arrived late, saw us in the hallway, and asked, 'Are you two getting married?' We burst out laughing then."
While Im rejected dozens of confessions and Kim loved him for years, the two remained close as senior and junior. However, Im's actions at the wedding remain a testament to the deep trust and loyalty shared between them.
