Im Woo-il reveals survival habits: "I eat expired food even if I'm wealthy"
Comedian Im Woo-il shares his unique frugal lifestyle and survival habits on VIVO TV's 'Confidentiality Guaranteed,' sparking laughter and empathy.
Comedian Im Woo-il has elicited both laughter and empathy by revealing his extraordinary frugal spirit and unique life philosophy.

On the 5th, Im appeared on the show 'Confidentiality Guaranteed' on the YouTube channel 'VIVO TV,' where he spoke candidly about his realistic spending habits and attitude toward life.
During the broadcast, Im offered a clarification—or rather, an explanation—regarding his past remark that "I wear underwear until more of my flesh shows through."
"If you wear underwear for a long time, certain parts naturally start to wear out," he said. "When my frugality was at its peak, I would just wear them even if there were small holes. But once the holes get so big that a larger area of skin is exposed, then I have to change them," he added, drawing laughter.
In particular, Im drew attention by revealing his unique thoughts on expired food.
"If I eat things past their expiration date, it creates lactic acid bacteria in my body," he joked, causing the set to burst into laughter. "Maybe that's why I don't get minor illnesses. I think the reason I don't get sick is that my body's immunity has become too strong."
When Kim Sook asked, "Now that you've made money, don't you at least finish all your leftover food?" Im replied firmly.
"That has nothing to do with whether I make a lot of money or a little. I am the type of person who hates wasting food."
He explained that it is a deeply ingrained habit of frugality, regardless of his economic situation.
In the past, Im has also described his lifestyle by saying, "It's not that I am trying to save; it's that I have ended up saving."
Regarding this, he confessed, "Until recently, my life was always filled with anxiety. So, I naturally had to live a life where I had no choice but to save."
It was not merely a "stingy habit" of not spending money, but a survival method formed while enduring uncertain times.
Im's honest confession went beyond laughter, gaining empathy from viewers by showing the life sensibilities and values that only someone who has passed through difficult times can possess.
