Jang Min Wook tearfully reveals hiding past divorce from mother

Neurologist Jang Min Wook shed tears as he confessed how he was unable to reveal his past divorce to his mother for a long time.

During the episode of the MBN variety show 'Dongchimi' aired on the 18th, Jang candidly shared his family history while the cast discussed the topic of parents suffering from dementia.

The broadcast featured a video of actress Hong Ji-min going on a family trip with her mother, who suffers from dementia, prompting deep empathy from the cast members.

"I reflected a lot while watching today's broadcast," Jang said, before cautiously bringing up his own experience.

As he mentioned, "I went through the pain of divorce once," he became visibly choked up, struggling to continue speaking as emotions welled up.

He then confessed, "At the time of my divorce, I wasn't able to tell my mother the truth for quite a long time."

Recalling those days, Jang said, "There was a time I went on a trip with my mother without letting her know about the divorce," adding, "At that time, my mother asked, 'Why didn't your daughter-in-law come?'"

Recalling his mother's reaction, he said, "She told me that the trip was truly wonderful," adding with teary eyes, "It made me resolve to take my mother on a trip like that again."

Jang's sincere confession drew empathy from the cast, prompting reflections on parental guilt and the preciousness of family.

Jang is a practicing neurologist who drew public attention through his remarriage to actress Bobo. Bobo married in 2012 and had two sons before divorcing in 2023; she received many congratulations after announcing her remarriage to Jang this past March.
