Broadcaster Kim Gu-ra has addressed the controversy surrounding a warning sticker placed on his vehicle after he parked in a designated compact car zone at an apartment complex. While the debate centered on his visit to the management office and his public complaints regarding the sticker rather than the parking violation itself, Kim clarified his position, stating, “I didn't actually lose my temper.”

On the 21st, Kim addressed the recent parking controversy during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel, Gurigura. Regarding public reactions questioning why he was angry despite being in the wrong, he said, “I meant that anger rose up inside me and then subsided,” adding, “Isn't it possible to feel anger internally? I didn't actually express anger outwardly.” His explanation aimed to clarify that his emotional expression was interpreted differently from his actual behavior as the controversy spread.

The incident began with parking issues Kim experienced after moving into a new apartment complex in Songdo, Incheon. Kim explained that after circling the parking lot several times unable to find a spot, he eventually parked in an empty compact car zone. “After circling a few times, I saw the compact car line was empty, so I parked there,” he said.

Kim also mentioned that he was not the only one parking in that zone. “It wasn't just me; other non-compact cars were parked there too,” he explained, noting that he parked close to the line due to the situation. However, when he returned to his vehicle the next day, he found a warning sticker attached.

The controversy intensified due to the method of attaching the sticker. Kim emphasized that he did not take issue with receiving a warning for parking in the compact car zone. Rather, he found the difficulty of removing the sticker hard to understand.

“What I couldn't understand was that receiving a warning is fine, but I wondered if there was a need to use a sticker with such strong adhesive,” Kim said. He continued, “I thought modern warning notices only have adhesive on the four corners so they can be easily peeled off, but this one used super-strong adhesive, and even after pouring hot water and scraping it, it wouldn't come off easily.”

Ultimately, Kim revealed that he visited the management office in person to speak with the property manager. He informed the manager that he was a resident, and was told that “warning notices are being attached because there are selfish residents.” From Kim's perspective, the reason he visited the management office was not simply because he received a warning, but because he experienced significant inconvenience in removing the sticker from his vehicle.

However, the context perceived online was different. Some netizens questioned whether it was appropriate for a party who first failed to follow regulations to complain about the adhesive method of a warning sticker, given the clear purpose and parking rules of the compact car zone. Critics also pointed out that the excuse that “other vehicles did the same” does not change the fact that the parking regulation was violated.
