Kim Hae-joon admits real anger when Yang Sang-guk grabbed his wife's hand

Comedian Kim Hae-joon revealed a moment when he felt genuine anger during a skit involving his wife, comedian Kim Seung-hye, and fellow comedian Yang Sang-guk. He confessed that although he knew it was a setup designed to elicit laughter, his emotions surged momentarily when unscripted physical contact occurred.

On the 21st, Kim appeared on the YouTube channel Zzanbro alongside Kang Yu-mi, Kim Yong-myung, and Na Bo-ram to share behind-the-scenes stories from the comedy world. During the appearance, Shin Dong-yup mentioned the 'Romantic Couple' segment Kim Seung-hye had appeared in and asked for Kim's reaction when Yang Sang-guk grabbed her hand.

Kim provided an unexpected answer, explaining that the situation was not a planned production. "Holding hands was not in the script at all," he stated.

He continued, "A lot of it was edited out. Sang-guk kept playing pranks because he wanted to tease me," adding, "It was because I am so reactive." Among comedians, it is not uncommon to use impromptu pranks to elicit a reaction; Kim explained that because he showed such strong reactions, Yang's pranks grew increasingly intense.

The scene occurred while they were walking during filming. Kim shared his feelings at the time, saying, "Later, while we were walking, he really just grabbed her hand. At that moment, even while playing the role of the uncle, I found myself getting angry, thinking, 'Shouldn't you not be doing this?'"

Even though he knew it was a skit, his emotions momentarily took precedence. Kim mentioned that he initially participated in the segment thinking the situation would be funny, but as the pranks became stronger than expected during filming, he even regretted it, saying, "I wrote the script wrong."

Nevertheless, it was ultimately an episode created by the unique spontaneity and camaraderie characteristic of comedians. "Comedians have a strong desire to tease one another," Kim said. "We had a very fun filming session, and the audience found it very entertaining as well." He explained that even pranks that put the other person in a difficult position are eventually transformed into laughter, which is a long-standing working method for comedians.

Shin Dong-yup also responded in his signature sly manner, making the cast laugh by saying, "If I were Sang-guk, I would have teased even more harshly. Sang-guk is quite mild." With Shin's hosting style, which exquisitely twists the boundary between real emotions and broadcast pranks, the episode was completed as a comedic piece.

The scene is particularly interesting because Kim Hae-joon and Kim Seung-hye are a real-life married couple. The two announced their marriage in 2024 and held their wedding ceremony in October of the same year. At the time, Kim drew attention by revealing how their relationship evolved from colleagues to lovers and sharing anecdotes about talking on the phone for long periods every day.

Kim Seung-hye is also a veteran comedian. After debuting as an SBS 9th generation open recruitment comedian in 2007, she was active in shows like 'People Looking for Laughter,' and was re-selected as a KBS 29th generation open recruitment comedian in 2014, appearing in 'Gag Concert.' Later, she expanded her reach beyond comedy to sports variety shows by appearing on SBS's 'Shooting Stars.'

The fact that both are comedians creates unique dynamics in their marriage. Situations that a typical couple might find uncomfortable can be converted into comedic material, and the pranks of colleagues can be consumed as a narrative within a broadcast.

Kim's recent confession is less an exposure of jealousy and more an honest look at the emotional moments comedians experience while working. A single unscripted action touched real emotions, and that moment of embarrassment was eventually reborn as laughter for variety content.
