Super Junior member Kim Hee-chul has shared a bright update roughly a month after stepping back from JTBC's variety program "Knowing Bros," offering fans a glimpse of his current mood amid recent concern over his health.
On June 2, Kim Hee-chul posted a photo with the short caption, "YeSe!!!" In the image, he is seen smiling brightly alongside Yesung, another member of Super Junior. The update drew attention because it showed him looking relaxed and playful after a period in which fans had been watching closely for news about his condition.
Kim Hee-chul appears in the photo with a mint candy in his mouth, making a mischievous expression for the camera. Behind him, Yesung is also visible with his familiar smile, adding to the lighthearted feel of the post.
The cheerful tone of the photo came after speculation about Kim Hee-chul's health had recently surfaced. Because of that, many fans responded with relief at seeing him in such a bright state, taking the update as a reassuring sign while he remains away from the program.
The production team of JTBC's "Knowing Bros" announced on May 30 that Kim Hee-chul would be taking a temporary break from the show. At the time, the team explained that this was not a permanent departure and said he is expected to rejoin after getting enough time to recharge. Kim Hee-chul has been absent from the program since the episode aired on May 9 and is currently resting.
Kim Hee-chul also addressed the reason for his break in his own words, saying that he had received many worried phone calls from acquaintances. He explained that he did not want viewers to see him looking exhausted or blank on screen, so he had decided to rest for a while. He emphasized that the program is very precious to him and added that, with his friend Shin Young joining, he was able to take time off more comfortably. He said he plans to return after recharging and wished viewers good health until the day they meet again.
