Comedian Kim Young-chul Reveals Anxiety Over Brain Lesion During Health Checkup

A video released on the YouTube channel 'Kim Young Chul Original' on the 17th captured Kim undergoing a series of health examinations and reviewing his results.

Prior to the examination, Kim admitted, "I always get nervous when I come to the hospital," citing his brain as his primary concern.

"I heard in the past that there was a small lump in my brain. They said there was something like a tiny boil in a blood vessel," Kim revealed. "I had once been told that if the lump grows, I might need brain surgery to remove it, so I really wanted to get a brain scan this time."

He further explained his decision to undergo the checkup by mentioning his treatment for intestinal obstruction last year, noting, "I wanted to re-check my overall health status, including a gastroscopy."

During the medical interview, Kim also disclosed his lifestyle habits.

Kim stated that while he tried smoking once at the suggestion of a senior during his military service, he did not continue due to discouragement from those around him. Regarding alcohol, he mentioned that he drinks about 3 to 5 times a week but strictly adheres to sobriety on Sundays to prepare for his radio broadcasts.

During the session, Kim underwent various tests, including blood work, an electrocardiogram, an exercise stress test, an ultrasound, a sleep endoscopy, and a brain CT.

The medical staff diagnosed his overall health as good, with the exception of a need to manage his visceral fat. They noted that despite his frequent drinking, no gastric ulcers or significant abnormalities were found, explaining that his health management is quite good for a man in his early 50s.

The assessment added that while his upper body muscle mass is somewhat lacking, his lower body strength is in good condition.

Upon receiving the results, Kim expressed relief, saying, "I think I need to manage my visceral fat more in the future," but added, "I feel relieved since there are no major issues in other areas."

In particular, as the brain scan—his greatest concern—showed no abnormalities, he was finally able to ease the worries he had carried for a long time.
