·

Broadcaster No Yu-jeong has revealed the reality of her economic difficulties and livelihood activities following her divorce, sharing intimate experiences from a period when her life changed drastically. This goes beyond a simple update on her current status, serving as a case that highlights the livelihood structure of middle-aged female broadcasters and the lack of a social safety net.

Comedian Noh Yoo-jung Reveals Financial Struggles and Hardships Following Divorce

In the recently released YouTube content 'Scoop World - The Man from Back Then,' No Yu-jeong appeared and compared her current life with the economic crises she faced in the past in a relatively calm tone. She revealed her realistic living environment, showing a daily life in a monthly rental space that does not even have a dressing table.

During the filming, while waiting for a bus, No Yu-jeong mentioned her economic situation at the time. She explained that her foundation for living was shaken violently when she received a much smaller amount than expected during the process of selling her vehicle.

“I thought I would get about 10 million won from selling the car, but I only received 5.3 million won,” she revealed, explaining how the gap between expectation and reality during the asset liquidation process led directly to livelihood instability.

Along with this, she recalled a period of extreme instability where she considered staying in a jjimjilbang (sauna), a gosiwon (tiny dormitory), or even the possibility of homelessness, stating, “I even thought about living under a bridge,” revealing the significant psychological pressure she felt at the time.

She explained that the economic crisis intensified within a complex structure rather than being a single event. No Yu-jeong mentioned an incident where her mobile phone was hacked, causing a surge in communication fees, stating that an abnormal situation persisted where bills reached the 2 million to 3 million won range per month. She explained that she even filed a police report, but it was difficult to identify the perpetrator, which eventually led to her changing her phone number.

These series of events acted as factors that rapidly weakened her personal economic foundation, and she recalled that her living environment worsened further as it coincided with the timing of her divorce announcement.

To maintain her livelihood, No Yu-jeong has been performing various types of manual labor, such as working at fish markets and washing dishes at restaurants, and it is reported that she is currently maintaining her daily life through part-time work at a restaurant. This is evaluated as a case of realistic labor transition, contrasting with her past career centered on broadcasting.

Additionally, she mentioned her connection with comedian Han Moo, sharing her experience of receiving mental support during difficult times. She noted the emotional burden and external perceptions she faced during her broadcasting activities, stating that the consideration of those around her was a great comfort.

Regarding the issue of her children's studies abroad, she explained the reason why she tried to maintain the original plan despite the economic difficulties. “It was something I started from the beginning when I had the capability, and I didn't want to give up halfway,” she said, emphasizing her sense of responsibility and determination as a parent.

No Yu-jeong married actor Lee Yeong-beom in 1994 and has one son and one daughter, but they underwent a mutual divorce in 2015. Since then, she has been continuing her life through various forms of labor while balancing broadcasting activities and making a living.

This confession is interpreted as a case that goes beyond personal suffering, revealing the reality that the profession of a broadcaster no longer guarantees a stable economic foundation and the economic vulnerability of women after middle age.
