Park Hyo-jung walks streets in golden Buddha costume in hilarious mishap

Park Hyo-jung, sister of singer Park Seo-jin, faced an unprecedented moment of embarrassment when she walked the streets dressed as a golden Buddha while preparing for a National Museum of Korea cosplay competition. Despite confessing she "wanted to quit broadcasting" due to the humiliation, she completed the mission, bringing laughter to viewers.

In the episode of the KBS 2TV variety show "Mr. House Husband" aired on the 18th, the cheerful challenge of siblings Park Seo-jin and Park Hyo-jung as they visited the National Museum of Korea was depicted.

On this day, Park Seo-jin led his sister to the museum, saying, "You need to study history. How long are you going to live without learning anything? You have to learn." However, there was a different real purpose: they were looking for costume ideas to participate in the '2026 National Museum of Korea Dress-up Play National Edition,' a cosplay event for visitors.

As Park Seo-jin looked around the museum, he remarked, "I thought it would be fun and a way to get revenge on my sister," while Park Hyo-jung showed a reluctant reaction, saying, "Let my brother make memories by himself." However, her attitude shifted upon hearing that there was a total prize of 3,000,000 won, drawing laughter.

The first challenge was the tiger from the folk painting 'Hojakdo.' Park Hyo-jung applied tiger makeup to her face and even wore yellow tights, while Park Seo-jin increased the quality by personally drawing the stripes. However, Park Seo-jin caused bursts of laughter by coldly declaring her elimination, saying, "You've gained more weight than the tiger."

The next work they chose was the National Treasure Gilt-bronze Standing Buddha of Yeon-ga Year 7. Park Hyo-jung expressed her expectations, saying, "Wouldn't a golden artifact be advantageous for winning?" The two increased their immersion by painting their entire faces gold, wrapping themselves in golden cloth, and even making hair decorations by attaching chocolate snacks using rice glue.

However, an unexpected situation occurred when Park Hyo-jung secretly ate the snacks during the makeup process. To obtain the missing ingredients, she had to head to a convenience store while still dressed as a golden Buddha, creating a bizarre sight as she walked through the middle of the street.

Park Hyo-jung candidly shared her feelings, saying, "I wanted to throw everything away, including the broadcast, and just go home," and "At that moment, I felt so humiliated that I wished I wasn't Park Hyo-jung."

Despite the embarrassing situation, she showed a friendly side by responding with bright smiles to students' requests for selfies and taking photos with them. Seeing this, Eun Ji-won commented, "This kind of makeup could easily look strange, but it's not repulsive at all; it's cute."

However, the carefully prepared Buddha costume failed to enter the competition for an unexpected reason. Park Seo-jin expressed regret, saying, "Since the competition cannot be entered if it is revealed in advance, and we have already gone outside, it is difficult to participate," and Park Hyo-jung also said, "I thought this work would do well, so it's a shame we had to give up."

Afterward, the siblings challenged another costume inspired by Kim Hong-do's representative work 'Ssireum.' Park Hyo-jung transformed into a wrestler and Park Seo-jin into a taffy seller, recreating various characters to complete the work, once again providing laughter to viewers with their playful chemistry.
