Park Wi reorganizes SNS and YouTube following KTX controversy

YouTuber Park Wi, who faced intense criticism after releasing footage of a KTX fall accident, has been spotted reorganizing his personal SNS following recent changes to his YouTube channel. After unpinning a post regarding his appointment as a Seoul City ambassador and setting numerous videos to private on his YouTube channel, interpretations are emerging that he may be restructuring his entire online presence following the controversy.

As of the 1st, Park Wi had unpinned the post related to his appointment as a Seoul City ambassador, which had been pinned to the top of his SNS until the morning of the 28th. It was identified that he did not delete the post itself but moved it to the general post list.

Previously, three posts were pinned to the top of Park Wi's SNS. The removal of the post announcing his appointment as a Seoul City ambassador from the pinned list occurred immediately after Park Wi expressed his intention to step down from the ambassador position on the same day.

Since the post itself remains, it is difficult to interpret this as a simple deletion. However, compared to how he previously placed major posts symbolizing his external activities at the top of his profile, there is room to view this as a trend of tidying up his SNS following the recent controversy.

The exposure order of some posts has also changed. As the arrangement of existing posts shifted, the overall SNS screen was organized into a different appearance than before. This is why observations are being made that Park Wi may be readjusting his online activity traces and the way his public image is presented following the recent controversy.

Similar changes were detected on his YouTube channel as well. According to an OSEN report on the 1st, a total of 13 additional videos were set to private on the YouTube channel 'Wheracle' operated by Park Wi within a single week. Including the videos previously deleted, the scale of content set to private or deleted since the controversy has grown even larger.

Park Wi's YouTube channel has been a representative content platform that grew by sharing his life overcoming disabilities and delivering various social messages. He has raised social awareness regarding disabilities by honestly revealing his rehabilitation process, daily life, travels, and wedding preparations after his accident, building a significant subscriber base based on this.

In particular, Park Wi increased his public recognition by not letting his experiences remain as a simple personal narrative, but by steadily conveying stories about the mobility rights of people with disabilities and prejudices in daily life. His appointment as a Seoul City ambassador was also accepted as a result of his activities and public influence being recognized.

However, the recent controversy surrounding the KTX fall accident dealt a significant blow to the image he had built over time.

On the 21st, Park Wi released CCTV footage through his YouTube channel showing the scene where a fall accident occurred during the process of disembarking from a KTX. Regarding the reason for releasing the video, he explained that he was reflecting on how he had only thought negatively about the mistakes made during the process of trying to help him.

However, criticism from viewers continued regarding the method of releasing the accident scene and the process of turning it into content. In particular, the controversy spread rapidly as various opinions poured in online regarding the attribution of responsibility surrounding the accident situation and the appropriateness of releasing the video.

Park Wi later apologized, stating, "I only thought negatively about the mistakes that occurred in the process of helping me," but the critical public opinion did not subside easily. The impact even reached his offline activities, with scheduled lectures being canceled in succession, and it was reported that his YouTube subscriber count also showed a declining trend.

As the controversy grew, changes also occurred in the content composition of 'Wheracle.' According to reports, Park Wi's channel once had approximately 798 videos, but starting with the deletion of the video 'The Reason for Releasing CCTV' on the 23rd, content has been disappearing one after another. On the 26th of last month, 10 videos were deleted or set to private, and on the 28th, an additional 3 videos were deleted or set to private, meaning a total of 14 videos have vanished from the channel.

These changes are noteworthy in that they go beyond simply organizing one or two videos. Until now, 'Wheracle' has served as a kind of personal archive accumulating the life, values, and external activities of Park Wi. Therefore, it is not impossible to assume that the large-scale content reorganization is a move to reset the future direction of the channel's operation.

Given that the post itself was not deleted, it is difficult to conclude that this was a specific intentional measure at this stage.
