PD Na Young-seok's 'Youth Over Flowers' Ratings Once Hit 11.8% — Now Humbled at 2%

PD Na Young-seok's tvN show 'Youth Over Flowers: Limited Edition' slides to 2.9%, two consecutive weeks of decline from the franchise's peak of 11.8%.

tvN variety show 'Youth Over Flowers: Limited Edition,' directed by PD Na Young-seok, has fallen to the 2% range after two consecutive weeks of declining ratings. The drop is all the more striking given that 'Youth Over Flowers' recorded a peak rating of 11.8% in Season 3 (2016).

Flower Youth Ratings Drop from 11.8% Peak to 2% Range

On the 17th, 'Youth Over Flowers: Limited Edition' featured Jung Yu-mi, Park Seo-jun, and Choi Woo-shik going on contrasting travel adventures in Namwon, North Jeolla Special Autonomous Province and Boseong County, South Jeolla Province, yet the episode managed only a 2.9% rating — down 0.6 percentage points from the previous week.

Before heading to their hanok (traditional Korean house) accommodation in Namwon, the three went grocery shopping first. Group treasurer Park Seo-jun, upon seeing two cartons of eggs priced 500 won apart, boldly chose the pricier option, saying, "We can flex a little, can't we?" They purchased samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly), ssam vegetables, and other items that would have been unthinkable during their Daegu trip, setting a lavish table in just one day.

Relieved that they hadn't drawn underwear in the 'Benefit Draw,' the three expressed satisfaction with the more relaxed trip. However, an unexpected crisis emerged. The accommodation they had secured through an acquaintance's connection turned out to be extremely cold, with no soundproofing and no running water. Only after Park Seo-jun and Choi Woo-shik finished the extra work of opening the water valve and other tasks could they finally rest in a warm room. Choi Woo-shik was relaxed enough to joke with Jung Yu-mi before bed, saying, "Noona, if you fart in your sleep, everyone will hear it."

The next morning, the three were disheartened when they drew an unwanted mobile phone in the 'Benefit Draw.' Jung Yu-mi despaired, saying, "I just hoped we wouldn't get the phone. Even the thought of it was awful." To save money, the three grabbed a simple breakfast at a convenience store. Their next destination, Boseong, foreshadowed a frugal trip in stark contrast to the plentiful Namwon adventure.

On their way to the Boseong green tea fields, the three received restaurant recommendations from local residents and were even gifted bread by an elderly person. Park Seo-jun expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am truly thankful for giving us such a sweet moment on our trip."

However, despair quickly followed. The guesthouse near the seaside charged a hefty 160,000 won per night — and it even had a sign reading "Closed today."
