Ryu Yi-seo Reveals Frightening Moment Jeon Jin's Injection Lifted Her Skin

Ryu Yi-seo, the wife of Jeon Jin of the K-pop group Shinhwa, has spoken candidly about a frightening moment she experienced during injections for in vitro fertilization.

On June 4, the channel "My Love Ryu Yi-seo" uploaded a video titled "Ryu Yi-seo Takes on the Egg Retrieval Said to Be the Most Painful Part of IVF, and Jeon Jin's Honest Feelings." In the video, Jeon Jin and Ryu Yi-seo visited a hospital as they continued their efforts to have a child. While on the way to restart IVF treatment, Ryu explained the process of receiving injections to induce controlled ovarian hyperstimulation.

Ryu recalled an earlier occasion when her husband personally administered one of the injections. She said Jeon Jin had wanted to give her the hyperstimulation shot, but the memory had remained painful for her. Ryu admitted that she was afraid to insert a needle into her own skin, so there had been a time when Jeon Jin stepped in and gave the shot for her.

According to Ryu, Jeon Jin had just returned from working out when the incident happened. She explained that he had been lifting heavy dumbbells and then picked up a much lighter syringe. The needle was supposed to be inserted and then pulled out quickly in a straight, horizontal motion, but his hand appeared to shake. As a result, when he removed the needle, it caught her skin and lifted it.

Ryu said the moment was so startling that both of them froze. She remembered hearing a sharp sound as the skin lifted, explaining that the noise seemed to come from the needle catching. "We were both so shocked that neither of us could say anything," she recalled.

After that, Ryu continued visiting a fertility center to check the condition of her follicles. Ahead of the egg retrieval, she also received additional injections and a cultured PRP procedure. After completing the retrieval, she said her condition was not good, describing abdominal pain similar to menstrual cramps and a groggy feeling. "It seems a little more painful than last time. My stomach hurts like period cramps, and I feel dazed," she said.

Ryu also gave a detailed update on the results of the procedure. She said about two weeks had passed since the egg retrieval, and that two eggs had been frozen after three days of culture. After hearing her doctor's explanation that the best environment for an embryo to grow is inside the mother's body, she decided to freeze them. Ryu added that, after recovering, she plans to try an embryo transfer in two to three months.
