U-KNOW's unwavering discipline: "My 30-year trainee spirit remains unchanged"
TVXQ's U-KNOW reveals his intense self-discipline and lifelong passion on MBC's The Manager, sharing stories from his trainee days to his current routine.
TVXQ's U-KNOW has once again captured public attention with the rigorous self-discipline and unwavering sincerity he has maintained for over 20 years since his debut.

In the MBC entertainment program 'The Manager' broadcast on the 18th, U-KNOW's daily life was revealed, showcasing the consistent effort hidden behind his charismatic stage presence.
The home of U-KNOW revealed during the broadcast was a space where a sense of lived-in reality stood out more than luxury. In the house where he has resided for 14 years, old furniture, exercise equipment, and familiar daily necessities were placed, leaving an impression of a space that reflects his way of life rather than chasing trends.
In particular, the sight of U-KNOW living with his parents recently showed a human side that contrasts with his intense image on stage. The cast members noted his humble daily life, saying, "It feels like a house where one lives with their parents."
On this day, U-KNOW's manager, Byeon Si-woo, explained, "The passionate image people know is not a manufactured character, but his actual self."
He added, "He has maintained a consistent persona for about 30 years, from his trainee days until now. Seeing him from the side, his self-discipline is more thorough than one would think, and his concentration toward his goals is intense."
In fact, U-KNOW revealed his extraordinary self-discipline philosophy by sharing his daily routine during the broadcast.
He stated that he has been performing fasted aerobic exercise every day for a year, saying, "My plan was to try doing one small thing steadily every year. Once you start, you must see it through to the end."
He surprised viewers by revealing that he had finished his workout and returned in the middle of heavy rain on the day of filming, saying, "Even if it rains, I run with an umbrella."
His continued diet management even after exercising was also revealed. Choosing chicken juice instead of various side dishes in the refrigerator, he expressed a sense of responsibility for his efforts, saying, "It's because I don't want the running to go to waste while I'm managing myself."
This attitude of U-KNOW was not created overnight.
Having started his life in Seoul as a trainee at SM Entertainment before the debut of TVXQ, he directly shared his past hardships on the program.
Originally from Gwangju, he revealed, "At first, I had nowhere to stay in Seoul. I stayed in jjimjilbangs and even slept at Seoul Station or in parks."
There were also times when he worked various part-time jobs to make a living. He recalled his difficult trainee days, saying, "At that time, the income from snow removal part-time jobs was decent."
As such, the label 'passion' is not a simple image for U-KNOW. It is the result of years of experience and habits built by pursuing his goals.
Since debuting with TVXQ in 2003, U-KNOW has established himself as a representative K-pop artist, performing on domestic and international stages, and he still places practice and self-discipline at the center of his life.
His refusal to forget the desperation of his past, combined with his consistency in seeing even small goals through to the end, serves as the most powerful driving force supporting him more than 20 years after his debut.
