SBS variety show 'Whenever Possible' Season 5, led by national MC Yoo Jae Suk, has encountered unexpected controversies ahead of its premiere. While the program itself faces no issues, a series of controversies surrounding the cast members have surfaced, increasing the pressure on both the production team and Yoo.

In the upcoming Season 5, which premieres on the 11th, existing MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok will once again team up. Expectations are high for the first episode, as Hwang Jung-min and Jung Ho-yeon, the leads of the film 'Hope' (directed by Na Hong-jin), are set to appear as guests.

Currently, Hwang is engaged in a legal battle involving allegations of a private relationship and stalking involving a woman, referred to as Ms. A.

While Ms. A claims she had a private relationship with Hwang, his side has taken legal action, identifying Ms. A as a suspect in a stalking case. As the claims of both sides clash, the controversy continues to linger.

However, the filming in question was completed before the controversy arose. SBS has stated that the segments featuring Hwang will be broadcast as scheduled.

Furthermore, co-MC Yoo Yeon Seok has also faced pressure following recent news regarding tax issues.

The National Tax Service previously notified Yoo of a tax assessment in the 7 billion won range, questioning whether his one-person agency was used to support his entertainment activities. It is reported that after an adjustment process, he paid a final tax amount of approximately 3 billion won and filed a tax appeal, which was reportedly rejected.

Regarding this, his agency King Kong by Starship stated, "This matter stems from a difference in opinion regarding the interpretation and application of tax laws," adding, "Not all procedures have been finalized yet, and we will closely review the relevant details and respond sincerely to the necessary procedures."

The primary concern is that these controversies coincide with the program's premiere.

'Whenever Possible' is a variety show that relies on Yoo's comfortable hosting and the natural chemistry of the cast rather than intense competition or provocative conflict. Having established itself as a 'healing variety show' over successive seasons, there is a risk that external issues involving the cast could impact the program's image.
