BTS RM Appeals to Fans in Front of Hotel, 'Disturbing Other Guests'

BTS RM has directly requested fans staying for long periods in front of their local accommodation in Peru to exercise restraint. While expressing gratitude for the passionate welcome from fans visiting the overseas tour, he appealed that the members and staff are unable to rest properly due to the crowds and noise gathered in front of the hotel, stating, "I hope you do not continue to stay in front of the hotel."

On the 8th, RM posted a long message on the fan communication platform Weverse to convey the current situation while staying in Peru. He first expressed his excitement and joy toward local fans, saying, "We are in Peru now," and "It is my first time here, so I am excited and happy." However, the following content was a request regarding the excessive visits of fans to the accommodation.

RM stated, "The members and staff are having a very hard time because of the fans who stay in front of the hotel where we are staying all day." He explained that the noise generated by fans staying in front of the hotel for long periods is being transmitted even inside the guest rooms. He conveyed that direct difficulties in the members' rest are occurring, saying, "It is so noisy even inside the rooms that everyone cannot sleep well."

The problem did not end with the discomfort of only the BTS members. RM pointed out, "We are also becoming a huge nuisance to other guests in the same hotel." He directly mentioned that the actions of fans gathered to see the artists could ultimately cause noise and inconvenience to ordinary guests using the same space.

RM did not unconditionally criticize the fans' passion. Rather, he first expressed his gratitude for the heart that welcomes them warmly. However, he emphasized, "While I am grateful for the heart and passion that welcomes us warmly, if we cannot get enough rest and sleep, it will interfere with the performances we have with you." This means that in order for the fans' cheers to lead to energy for the performance, the artists also need an equivalent amount of time to rest.

This request was not limited only to Peru. RM directly mentioned the upcoming South American tour and subsequent Asian schedules, hoping that the same behavior will not be repeated. He said, "I hope you do not continue to stay in front of the hotel in Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, which we are going to next, and also in various countries in Asia later."

In particular, RM concluded his message in a way that expressed trust in the fandom, ARMY. He urged, "If you are ARMY, I believe you will understand and will not do that," and "I hope we can become a more mature and proud relationship." It was closer to an appeal to create a relationship where the artist and fans respect each other's boundaries rather than a simple message of prohibition saying 'do not come.'

BTS is currently conducting the world tour 'BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’'. Following the performance in Bogotá, Colombia, they are meeting South American fans with performances on the 7th, 9th, and 10th (local time) at Estadio San Marcos in Lima, Peru. They plan to expand the tour to Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and more.

In the overseas tours of global stars, it is not uncommon for fans' attention to be concentrated not only on the venues but also on moving and staying spaces such as airports and hotels.
