Cho Yeo-jeong discusses weight management challenges due to small frame

During a YouTube appearance on the 29th, actress Cho Yeo-jeong explained that even a 1kg weight change is significant for her due to her small physical frame. She shared how she manages her condition by avoiding certain foods like sweet potatoes and limiting swimming to 20 minutes on filming days to avoid goggle marks.

Actress Cho Yeo-jeong has opened up about the unique challenges of weight management caused by her small physical frame. She explained that even 1kg, which might seem insignificant to others, is by no means light for her. By candidly sharing the reasons behind her strict diet and exercise routines, her dedication to self-management has once again drawn attention.

In the "On the Way Home from Work" episode featuring Cho Yeo-jeong, which was released on the YouTube channel PDC on the 29th, the actress visited a regular cafe and discussed the lifestyle habits she has maintained while balancing filming and daily life. In particular, her realistic concerns as an actress who meticulously adjusts her physical condition for her works drew interest.

Recalling her time filming for the SBS variety show "Law of the Jungle," Cho shared unexpected hardships. "Before going, I worried about how someone like me, who loves food, could endure starving," she said, adding, "Surprisingly, not being able to drink coffee was the hardest part." While she worried about food restrictions because she enjoys eating, the actual ordeal was being unable to enjoy the coffee she usually drinks.

When it was mentioned that she used to enjoy sweet potatoes, she revealed that her diet had undergone changes. "I used to like sweet potatoes, but after a constitution test, I was told they don't suit me," Cho explained. "So I removed them from my diet." This shows her approach of boldly excluding even familiar healthy foods if they do not suit her body.

However, she does not strictly limit every food item. "Actually, coffee doesn't suit me either," Cho said with a laugh, adding, "but I drink it thinking, 'this is too much [to deny myself].'" She explained that while she adheres to her other eating habits as much as possible, she allows herself to enjoy coffee and desserts, leaving small pleasures within her self-imposed management principles.

She also revealed her routine on the morning of a filming day. "I only did swimming for 20 minutes," Cho said, bringing laughter by adding, "If I swim, goggle marks are left, so I can't film. I would appear like a raccoon." She shared that she adjusted her exercise time to avoid marks on her face before heading to filming after eating a slice of toast and an egg.

When asked if she maintains her diet and lifestyle even on non-filming days, she nodded. This was because she has no choice but to manage her physical condition consistently, as official schedules such as film festivals continue. In particular, when asked how much she can control her weight, Cho explained the unique pressure caused by her physique.

"Because my frame is so small, 1kg is not just 1kg," she lamented. "People with small frames like me will understand. When I mention 1kg, my friends say, 'Why are you making such a big deal out of 1kg?' but I can't help it." She noted that even with the same number, the perceived weight and changes can differ depending on one's physical build.

Cho Yeo-jeong's self-management to maintain her small stature appears to be more of a professional habit of finely tuning her physical condition ahead of filming and official schedules rather than a simple obsession with numbers on a scale. Her daily life—removing foods that do not suit her from her diet and adjusting even exercise time to fit the filming environment—reveals the traces of long-term management.

Cho Yeo-jeong will meet audiences through the Netflix film "Possible Love," in which she stars alongside Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, and Zo In-sung. The work is scheduled to be released on November 6.
