Kang Kyun-sung predicts Jun Hyun-moo will be next to marry

Singer Kang Kyun-sung, who is preparing to marry Yoo Ha-jin, 14 years his junior, has an unexpected prediction: broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo will be the next to wed.

Kang Kyun-sung makes the remark during episode 16 of MBN and Channel S variety show Jun Hyun-moo's Plan 4, scheduled to air on the 16th at 9:10 p.m. His reasons for choosing Jun Hyun-moo will be revealed in the broadcast.

The episode follows Jun Hyun-moo and KwakTube (Kwak Joon-bin) to Gyeongju, where they join singers Kim Jang-hoon and Kang Kyun-sung at a restaurant with a 21-year tradition of serving kalguksu. Over bowls of hot noodle soup, the four discuss marriage, dating and their approaches to proposing.

Kang Kyun-sung recounts his first meeting with Yoo Ha-jin and how they reunited after nine years and developed a romantic relationship. He also shares the story behind his recent proposal, describing preparations that put his bride-to-be at the center of the occasion.

“I proposed a few weeks ago,” he says. “Because the bride-to-be should look her prettiest during the proposal…”

His attention to detail impresses Jun Hyun-moo and Kim Jang-hoon, who respond, “We learned something today.” Their interest in his approach turns the conversation into an impromptu lesson on preparing a moving proposal.

KwakTube, who recently married, joins in with his own experience. “I focused on surprising her,” he says, explaining the effort he put into catching his wife off guard. “Fortunately, she did cry,” he adds, drawing laughter. His emphasis on surprise offers a different approach from Kang Kyun-sung’s careful preparations to help his bride-to-be look her best.

Kim Jang-hoon takes the discussion in another direction by suggesting hiding a ring in sundae soup. He jokes that someone eating it might ask, “Is this pork stomach?”

Jun Hyun-moo, expecting something romantic, reacts with a disapproving “Oh, come on.” Kim Jang-hoon responds with mock hurt: “You’ve never once agreed with anything I say.” The serious discussion of proposals gives way to the pair’s banter.

It is during this exchange that Kang Kyun-sung names Jun Hyun-moo as his likely successor at the altar. “I think Jun Hyun-moo will be the next to marry after me,” he says.
