Netflix 'This Damn Love' bets on stellar supporting cast

Netflix is set to present another hit for home viewers this summer. The original series 'This Damn Love', scheduled for release on August 7, is raising expectations by revealing a lineup of 'trusted supporting actors' who enhance the depth of the work, alongside the romantic comedy pairing of Jung Hae In and Oh Ha-young.

'This Damn Love' tells the story of Ko Eun-sae (Oh Ha-young), a prosecutor who has lost her memory, and Jang Tae-ha (Jung Hae In), a boxing coach who claims to be her boyfriend, as they live together. Set against the backdrop of sudden amnesia, the series is expected to deliver both heart-fluttering moments and laughter through the process of the two rediscovering their past connection and their unpredictable cohabitation romance.

In particular, the greatest weapon of this work is not just the lead actors, but the overwhelming presence of the supporting actors who enrich the drama.

First, actor Heo Sung-tae joins the cast to add tension to the story. Interest is gathering on what kind of relationship Heo will form with Jung Hae In and Oh, given his unique intense charisma and delicate acting skills.

Additionally, a unique community called 'Yeot Village' appears, making the color of the work even more distinct. Kim Young-ok will deliver a deep performance as Ko Yeon-hong, a traditional yeot artisan suffering from dementia. Director Kim Jang-han stated, "The people of Yeot Village do not exist simply as kind characters, but are characters who discover and grow themselves through the new stimulus provided by Jang Tae-ha and Ko Eun-sae. To express that process convincingly, I wanted to cast the best actors."

He continued, "The chemistry between the actors was so good that there were plenty of ad-libs, and it was a set where laughter never ceased. You can look forward to various fun elements, such as the strength to protect Yeot Village and the warm gaze watching the romance between Jang Tae-ha and Ko Eun-sae."

The strategy Netflix has recently shown in the Korean content market is evolving from simply putting famous actors at the forefront to strengthening the power of the narrative through a cast of strong-willed supporting actors and solid character groups.
