Bae Jung-nam Shares 'Original Feelings' with Ahn Hee-yeon, While Ha Seok-jin Responds Coldly with 'So What?'

In the latest episode of the KBS 2TV drama 'Love Comes,' actor Ha Seok-jin showed an indifferent reaction to Bae Jung-nam's confession regarding the conclusion of his relationship with Ahn Hee-yeon. The scene highlighted a stark contrast between Ha Seok-jin, who has already moved on from his feelings for Ahn Hee-yeon to pursue a new relationship, and Bae Jung-nam, who is struggling with the lingering aftereffects of their breakup, heightening the emotional tension of the drama.

During the broadcast on the 29th, Heung-sik, played by Bae Jung-nam, visited Mu-jin, played by Ha Seok-jin, to seek advice after ending his relationship with Gyu-rim, played by Ahn Hee-yeon. Heung-sik informed Mu-jin, “Gyu-rim and I have decided to go back to just being like older and younger siblings.” However, Mu-jin showed little reaction. When Mu-jin appeared uninterested, a puzzled Heung-sik remarked, “You don't seem to care much? I guess it's completely over between you and Gyu-rim.”

Heung-sik confessed that he is struggling to accept the breakup with Gyu-rim. Gyu-rim had expressed that she no longer wanted to deceive one another and suggested they nullify the proposal she had received, a proposal which Heung-sik initially accepted. However, as the reality of the separation became clearer over time, he admitted that it has become difficult even to maintain his daily life.

“I thought I was truly okay, but as time passes, I feel like there is a gaping hole in my chest, and I can't focus on anything,” he lamented. “It feels like the world has collapsed; I can't even sit down or stand up properly.”

Ultimately, Heung-sik, who was even considering psychiatric counseling, sought out Mu-jin, who had received the news of the breakup from Gyu-rim even earlier than he did. He asked Mu-jin how he managed to endure such intense romance, questioning, “I haven't even held her hand once and I'm like this; I wonder how you, Chef, endured such a desperate romance.”

However, Mu-jin's response was cold. Replying to Heung-sik's question, he retorted, “Do you think I'm that easy to deal with?” revealing his discomfort. Although both men loved the same woman, their ways of processing the breakup were diametrically opposed.

Currently, Mu-jin has moved on from his feelings for Gyu-rim and is continuing a relationship with Seo-hyun, played by Lee Ju-yeon. Having been wounded in his past relationship with Gyu-rim, Mu-jin's choice to not dwell on the past and instead embrace a new relationship created a clear emotional contrast with Heung-sik.

The episode also revealed the true intentions of Hun-tae, played by Kwon Hae-hyo, regarding Seo-hyun. Hun-tae, who visited Mu-jin while intoxicated, said, “From your childhood until now, you have never treated our Seo-hyun as a girl. I know. Can love really be achieved through effort?”

Hun-tae focused on Seo-hyun's transformation. He shared his feelings as a father watching his daughter's happiness, noting, “Lately, our Seo-hyun has been so, so happy. She says she feels like she has the whole world, like she is floating on clouds every day.”

At the same time, Hun-tae told Mu-jin, “Sometimes I wonder if Seo-hyun and I are being happy at the expense of your misfortune.” He expressed concern that the happiness of himself and his daughter might have been obtained at the cost of Mu-jin's pain.

To this, Mu-jin replied firmly, “I am not unhappy. It is a choice I made of my own will.” As Mu-jin clearly stated his intention to take responsibility for his own choice, Hun-tae ultimately entrusted Seo-hyun to him.

This scene can be interpreted as 'Love Comes' moving beyond the simple formation and dissolution of romantic relationships to show how characters handle emotions following love and how they accept new connections. While Heung-sik is a character held captive by the sense of loss from a breakup, Mu-jin is a character who attempts to live in the present through his own choices, even if scars remain.
