Choi Jin-hyuk Says His Mother Told Him to Marry Even If He Later Divorces, and Shares Lee Geon-joo's Baby Fortune
On MBC's Radio Star, actor Choi Jin-hyuk discussed marriage, his mother's blunt advice, and a baby prediction from shaman Lee Geon-joo.
Actor Choi Jin-hyuk opened up about his thoughts on marriage and revealed a memorable fortune he once heard from Lee Geon-joo, an actor who has since become a shaman.

On episode 970 of MBC's entertainment program Radio Star, which aired on July 1, Ryu Soo-young, Choi Jin-hyuk, Yoon Shi-yoon, and Sandeul appeared as guests and spoke candidly during the broadcast.
During the episode, Choi drew attention by recalling what Lee Geon-joo had told him after becoming a shaman. Choi said, "It was something I heard in 2024. He told me that I would have a baby in 2026. Sundol Lee Geon-joo hyung said that."
Choi then connected the prediction to an unexpected coincidence in his acting work. "The title of the drama that was scheduled to air this year happened to be I Have a Baby, but the programming was pushed back, so it will now air in 2026," he said. "I wondered whether I was really going to have a baby, but I also thought maybe it was said because I was going to do this project." His explanation brought laughter to the studio.
Choi also spoke honestly about how he views marriage. He said that there are moments when he sees fellow actor Ryu Soo-young and thinks he would like to get married, explaining that Ryu's married life has made an impression on him.
At the same time, Choi did not hide his more realistic concerns. "Right now, I am free," he said. "If you have a partner, there are parts where you have to adjust to each other." His remarks showed both the anticipation he feels about marriage and the practical worries that come with it.
He added that his mother had also given him direct advice about the matter. According to Choi, she told him, "Even if you go once and come back, it seems like you still have to get married." MC Kim Gu-ra quickly responded, "There are cases where people go and come back again, too," turning the studio into a sea of laughter.
Born in 1986 and now 40 years old, Choi Jin-hyuk continues his acting career while drawing attention for sharing his sincere thoughts on marriage and family.
