Choi Woo-shik enjoys Paris life after clarifying racism allegations
Actor Choi Woo-shik shares peaceful photos from Paris following his recent clarification regarding racism allegations as he prepares for his next drama.
Actor Choi Woo-shik has shared his first update since personally offering an apology and clarification regarding recent allegations of racism. While sharing photos capturing his relaxed daily life in Paris, France, attention is also turning toward his preparations for his next project.

On the 6th, Choi posted several photos on his SNS with the short caption "Paris."
The released photos capture Choi enjoying his travels against the backdrop of the streets and architecture of Paris. He created a comfortable yet sophisticated look with simple styling, matching a dark gray short-sleeved T-shirt with navy pants and black loafers. He completed his signature natural aesthetic by adding a black ball cap and sunglasses, drawing attention as he spent leisurely time strolling through the city.
This post garnered significant interest as it was his first update since the recent racism allegations surfaced.
Previously, Choi visited France to attend an event for a fashion brand for which he serves as a global ambassador. During the event, allegations of racism arose online when a Black fan claimed, "I was the only Black fan at the scene that you passed by" while he was signing autographs.
As the controversy spread, Choi directly addressed the situation by posting an English statement on his SNS on the 28th of last month. He expressed, "If I happened to pass you by, I am sincerely sorry. I tried my best to sign autographs for as many fans as possible, but time was very limited. I hope to see you and greet you again next time."
Subsequently, as various materials including footage from the scene were released, it was confirmed that Choi was indeed signing autographs for other Black fans as well. Consequently, reactions followed stating that the claim of intentionally excluding a specific race was untrue, and the controversy was settled as a misunderstanding stemming from the on-site situation.
This update from Paris holds significance as it marks his return to communicating with fans in a calm atmosphere, even though the post simply captured his daily life without further explanation. The photos naturally show him touring attractions and strolling the streets, reflecting a peaceful daily life.
Meanwhile, Choi has confirmed his appearance in the new tvN drama Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid. Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, this period drama is set during the Japanese colonial period and tells the story of a man who gave everything for his country and a woman who risked her life to protect him.
Choi is expected to undergo a new acting transformation in this work, starring alongside Moon Ga-young, Heo Nam-jun, Yoo Jae-myung, and Kang Han-na. The drama is currently in production with a goal to broadcast next year, and anticipation is high for the heavy narrative and the acting synergy of the cast.
