Kim Ji-young reveals 'miracle' pregnancy while treating PCOS

Kim Ji-young, an influencer known from the Channel A dating reality show 'Heart Signal 4', has candidly revealed the process leading up to her pregnancy for the first time. She expressed deep emotion, describing the pregnancy as a "child who came like destiny," noting that it arrived much earlier than expected while she was undergoing long-term treatment for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

On the 7th, Kim held a Q&A session with her subscribers through a video titled 'How does someone live 3 years after appearing on a dating show?' which she uploaded to her YouTube channel. Currently pregnant, she answered various questions regarding her health, marriage, and pregnancy, opening up about stories she had not previously disclosed.

The question that drew the most attention was whether the pregnancy had been planned. In response, Kim explained her health condition step by step.

"I suffer from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome," she stated. "Since it is a condition where ovulation does not occur regularly, I have been receiving treatment for a long time." She continued, "I am currently 30 years old, but my test results showed my ovarian age to be around 24. While people often think having a young ovarian age is a good thing, in my case, it also means that eggs are not being released sufficiently relative to my age. Because of this, my menstrual cycle was also very irregular."

Kim also revealed that she had been taking oral contraceptives for a long period during her treatment. "I consistently took the medication for about 5 to 6 years for treatment purposes," she said. "However, considering the risk of blood clots when taking it for a long time, I had to take a break from the medication for a certain period, so I had been resting from the medication for about two months."

It was during this time that the unexpected news arrived. "During those two months when I was briefly resting from the medication I had taken continuously for 5 to 6 years, the fetus, whose nickname is 'Pobi,' arrived," she said with a smile. "I feel like the child truly came to us like destiny."

She continued with her overwhelming emotions, saying, "I heard that after taking oral contraceptives for a long time, it often takes time for the body to immediately recover its original ovulation cycle. Thinking about how the baby came to us in that situation, I feel like 'Pobi' really wanted to come to us. Right now, I am just filled with gratitude."

This pregnancy also occurred much earlier than the plan the couple had set. Kim revealed, "Originally, we planned to have a child at least two years later. We had discussed enjoying our newlywed life to the fullest after marriage and becoming parents slowly."

However, she explained that as they embraced the new life that arrived faster than expected, their plans naturally changed. She added that although it was different from the plan, she is now waiting for the baby with more gratitude than anyone.

Kim's confession is gaining significant empathy by showing that the process of pregnancy and childbirth is very different for every individual. In particular, her decision to share her experience without hiding it has drawn positive reactions, especially from women experiencing infertility or ovulation disorders.
