Jang Ga-hyun Stands Her Ground After Driver's Threat: "Go Ahead and Expose It, Please"

Actress Jang Ga-hyun has publicly shared a threatening message she said she received from a daeri driver who initially identified himself as her fan.

On June 2, Jang posted screenshots on social media showing a message exchange with a driver. In the first message, the driver introduced himself as the person who had been called for a daeri ride in Gangnam the previous day and had driven her as far as her home in Ilsan.

The driver said that because Jang had been wearing a hat in the car and it was dark, he had not been able to see her face clearly. However, he wrote that he recognized her voice during a phone call, saying it was a voice he had heard often, and eventually realized she was Jang Ga-hyun.

He then expressed his admiration as a fan. He wrote that after work he often watches reruns of "Love and War," and said he had liked Jang very much. He praised her height, face and voice, adding that it was a great honor to have personally driven her home. He also said he hoped he would have another chance to drive her again, wished her good health, and told her to make sure to go on a trip with her friend.

After that, however, the tone changed. The driver sent another message saying that even famous actors usually respond with greetings and thanks after a brief meeting or to comments from fans, then accused her of having "zero humanity." He went on to threaten her, writing that he might expose everything about what happened in the car during the daeri ride from Gangnam to Ilsan.

Jang responded directly to the threat. She wrote, "How am I supposed to read every DM and reply to all of them? What are you going to expose? Go ahead and expose it, please," making clear that she was offended by the message.

Jang Ga-hyun made her debut in the 1998 film "The Quiet Family." She also appeared on KBS 2TV's "Couple Clinic: Love and War." In 2000, she married Cho Sung-min, a guest vocalist for the group 015B, and the couple had one son and one daughter before divorcing in 2020.
