Lee Hye-young Upset Over Eyes No Longer Looking Pretty After 5-Year Battle With Lung Cancer
Actress and painter Lee Hye-young shares her emotional journey battling lung cancer for five years and the physical toll it took on her appearance.
Lee Hye-young, an actress and painter formerly of Coco, shared an update regarding her ongoing battle with lung cancer.

On the 10th, Lee Hye-young posted a snippet of a video that will be uploaded to her YouTube channel on the 11th on her SNS, asking, "You were curious about my life during the five years I fought cancer, right?" She began sharing her story, saying, "Some of you may know, and some may not, but I have been very sick."
Showing her side where surgical marks remain, she explained, "They resected the lung through my side. There are many scars on my side. I underwent many procedures and received many injections. This is exactly where the pain occurs."
After revealing cancer tissue discovered in lung examination photos, she expressed her distress over how her appearance changed during her illness: "Because of adhesions here, it kept hurting, and the pain traveled up to my head. Suddenly, the symptoms reached my eyes. For women, it is upsetting when your eyes don't look pretty like this. I felt a lot of frustration because of my eyes. I thought I would start filming YouTube once my eyes were okay, but it doesn't feel like that day will come soon."
She appears much thinner than before, as if describing the aftereffects of her battle. While she once complained of swelling in her eyes due to adhesion symptoms, that swelling has since subsided.
She showed a determined side, saying, "My blood vessels weakened from receiving so many injections. Even the needles couldn't get in, so many scars were left behind. There are many wounds and scars all over my body. It is so upsetting and difficult. Still, I will try to overcome this and work hard. I am trying to come back out into the world. Please look forward to Lee Hye-young's YouTube."
She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021 and underwent resection surgery.
