Child actor Choi Woo-jin clarifies he is not AI-generated, addressing rumors regarding his resemblance to Koo Kyo-hwan in the hit movie 'Gunche'.
As the film 'Gunche' climbs to number one at the box office following its release, interest is growing regarding the child actor playing the younger version of the male protagonist, Koo Kyo-hwan.
On the 21st, a post appeared on a community website stating, "The child actor playing Koo Kyo-hwan in the movie 'Gunche' looks exactly like Koo Kyo-hwan. They look so similar that I suspected he was made by AI."
Choi Woo-jin played the childhood version of Seo Young-chul, portrayed by Koo Kyo-hwan. In response, Choi Woo-jin explained on social media, "I am not AI. I am Choi Woo-jin, born in 2012. I am actor Koo Kyo-hwan's child actor."
'Gunche', which was released on the 21st, depicts survivors isolated inside a building sealed off due to an unidentified infection outbreak, facing infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable forms. Attracting 199,759 viewers on its opening day, the film reached number one at the box office and recorded the highest opening score among this year's releases.
