According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions on the 24th, 'Gunche' drew 475,772 viewers nationwide on the 23rd.
The cumulative number of viewers has reached 924,108, making it highly likely that the film will surpass 1,000,000 viewers on the 24th. Domestic cumulative revenue has exceeded 10.2 billion KRW.
'Gunche' had a spectacular release on the 21st, recording the highest opening score among films released in 2026. As the 24th and 25th are holidays, attention is focused on how many more viewers it will attract.
This work depicts survivors isolated inside a building sealed off due to an unidentified infection outbreak, struggling to survive against infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable forms. The cast includes Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo.
It was invited to the Midnight Screening section in the non-competition category of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival.
