Director Na Hong-jin's new film 'Hope' has been invited to compete in the main competition section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival.

The film tells the story of Bum-seok, the branch manager of Hopo Port located in the Demilitarized Zone, who hears word from local young men that a tiger has appeared, plunging the entire village into a state of emergency as he encounters an unbelievable reality.

The film, which Na directs for the first time in ten years since 'The Wailing,' marks his first foray into the science fiction genre and boasts a star-studded cast. It features Jo In-sung, Hwang Jung-min, and Jung Ho-yeon, alongside Hollywood stars including Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, Cameron Britton, and Taylor Russell.
