In an interview with fashion magazine Cosmopolitan released on the 3rd, Jennie reflected on the past year, confessing, "It has been a truly hectic time." She added, "I never had the luxury to pause, adapt to the changes, and fully embrace everything my first studio album, 'Ruby,' has brought to me."
Since debuting with BLACKPINK in 2016, Jennie has established herself as a leading K-pop artist with numerous hits, including "Whistle," "Playing with Fire," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," "Shut Down," and "Ttwieo." The interview also featured sincere confessions regarding her physical insecurities. "These days, I am in the process of becoming friends with my body," Jennie shared. "In the early days of my career, because I had a small build, I felt a lot of pressure to make myself look bigger."
She continued, expressing her changed mindset: "There were definitely parts that I felt were complexes, but now I try to love my body just as it is. I am also gradually learning which styles suit my body type best. I have much more confidence in myself than before."
She also expressed her deep affection for the BLACKPINK members, emphasizing that even as their individual activities have increased, they remain a reliable support system for one another.
"I grew up together with the members," Jennie said. "We were always together through both hard and happy moments, looking out for each other and exchanging advice. That is why I have never felt like I was lost."
