Yuri, formerly of the group Cool, returned to Korea for the first time in seven years and shared an emotional reunion with her longtime friend Lee Ji-hye of S#arp. As Yuri, who has been living in the United States, revealed her recent life and the two friends looked back on a friendship that has continued for 30 years, fans showed strong interest in the heartfelt encounter.

On July 2, a new video was released on Lee Ji-hye's YouTube channel under the title, "Lee Ji-hye's True Close Older Sisters! Cool's Yuri and Baek Ji-young Reveal for the First Time a Tearful 30-Year Friendship." The video drew attention by bringing together familiar names connected through long-running bonds in Korean entertainment.
In the video, Lee Ji-hye could not hide her excitement as she waited to meet Yuri. She said she had briefly seen Yuri's face a few days earlier but had held back for the sake of filming the YouTube content. Lee added that it would be the first time in a long while that they were properly meeting, following her trip to Los Angeles in the United States two years earlier.
When Yuri finally appeared, Lee Ji-hye was overcome with emotion and shed tears, unable to conceal how glad she was to see her. Yuri greeted her warmly, saying that Ji-hye had become truly pretty. Lee responded with a joke in the relaxed tone of an old friend, saying that she had even bought new clothes to meet Yuri that day and that she no longer bought clothes only at discount stores.
Lee Ji-hye also playfully introduced Yuri as "a figure who disappeared into history" and asked how she had been doing. Yuri smiled shyly and said it had been seven years since she had come to Korea, adding that even filming something like this felt extremely unfamiliar after such a long time. She also admitted that she was not very sure how YouTube worked.
Lee then asked Yuri about the time that had passed since her activities with Cool, noting that Yuri had gone through marriage and childbirth and had been living in the United States. When Lee asked how many years it had been since she last came to Korea, Yuri answered, "It really has been seven years," confirming once again the length of her absence.
The meeting naturally revealed the friendship the two have maintained for nearly 30 years, as well as the affection they still have for one another. Even though they had lived far apart for a long time, the fact that they were moved to tears immediately after reuniting showed the depth of trust and connection between them, leaving viewers with a warm afterglow.
Yuri married a businessman who was formerly a professional golfer in 2014, and the couple has three children. She currently lives in Los Angeles, where she has been focusing on family life. Through this visit to Korea, she has also begun reconnecting with domestic fans after a long interval.
