“The Moment Flowers Become Weapons” Harim Expresses Concern Over Condolence Wreaths at Baejae High School
Singer Harim criticizes the use of political condolence wreaths, warning that using symbols of death to attack others is a form of psychological violence.
Singer Harim has delivered a social message by expressing strong concern regarding the recent trend of using 'political condolence wreaths.' He specifically mentioned the procession of wreaths extending to the front of a school, warning about the psychological violence these methods inflict on others.

On the 6th, Harim posted a message on his SNS titled "Nasty things done with flowers," expressing a critical stance on the culture of condolence wreaths that has emerged during recent political conflicts.
"At some point, a bizarre culture emerged where political attacks are carried out through condolence wreaths," he noted, pointing out that wreaths, which originally signify mourning, have been corrupted into tools used to exert psychological pressure on specific targets. He continued, "There is a malicious intent to shake the emotions of the opponent through symbols that evoke death," adding that "the ribbon messages are like offline comments exposed on the streets."
In particular, Harim emphasized the seriousness of the issue by directly mentioning a recent case of condolence wreaths identified near Baejae High School. He stated, "It is very concerning that this method is reaching the front of a school where children attend."
While clarifying that he is not denying the right to express political positions themselves, he explained, "Whether it is for support or criticism, it is fundamentally distorted when flowers become a tool to attack others."
Harim condensed his sense of problem through the sentence, "Flowers are not originally meant to be used for hitting." He expressed concern that if such symbolic methods of attack seep into daily life, hatred could be learned by children as if it were a natural social norm.
Finally, he emphasized that society must restore a minimum level of dignity regarding methods of emotional expression, stating, "Flowers weaponized to harm others are no longer flowers."
